Watching You Bloom with Pink Fresh Studios

Hi There!  Ever have one of those days where you need a pretty card, but don’t have a lot of time to create?  Today was one of those days, and these new products from Pink Fresh Studios from the Peony Perfection Suite were perfect!  I started off with the Washi Tape in Pink and the coordinating Peony Perfection Dies for quick and showstopper blossoms.

Next, I used the new Leafy Lattice Press Plate and coordinating Dies with foiling to create the gorgeous lattice.  I ink blended the background and then placed all the elements onto the page.  A little splash of gold paint adds that metallic touch.

The sentiment is from the Peony Perfection Stamp set, and I embossed it in gold, and a few gold enamel dots are the pretty jewelry accents.

Family Graduation with the Greetery

We had some great celebrations going on last weekend, our older son and his girlfriend graduated with their undergrad degrees (with distinction!).  Both of them are heading to Masters studies this fall.  Today and tomorrow I’ll show you the cards I made for both of them.  Today our son’s card is up!  I’m just crazy about their Confetti Encore Suite of products!  For this design I used the Award Winning Die and the University colours (green and gold) to create this celebration ribbon.  A bit of gold shimmery paper really makes the sparkle come out in the ribbon and in the metallic stars.   The cardstock is Evergreen and Stardust from Concord & 9th.

The background is foiled with the Ticker Tape Foil Plate and then I added the gold embossed sentiment with the Inflated Sentiments Stamp Set.   And to make it feel like even more of a party I also used the Curly Q Streamers, and some gold sequins.

And my sweet sentimental son even told me how much he loved the card, and how happy he was to have it.  (swoon!)

Here’s a couple of pictures of them from the day.

Green and Gold for a Grad Girl with The Stamp Market

Today I’m back with the second grad card this week for our son’s girlfriend.  I went with the same colours as yesterday - their University colours of green and gold, but a much more feminine style using The Stamp Market products.  This beautiful floral die set is called Big Bloom Bouquet.  Marvellous, don’t you think?  I placed the arrangement onto a mini-slimline size card that I foiled with a Spellbinders foiling die called Plaid Tidings (retired?).

I added some ink blending and pencil colour blending on the petals and the same gorgeous shimmery gold cardstock for the flower centers.

And it’s finished with a perfect gold foiled sentiment from The Stamp Market called Best Wishes Foil Plates and some gold sequins.  It has a very summery feel with the rich colours!

An Airforce Grad!

Hello!  Our family has had a very special week with my husband’s family in the US.  We went for our nephew’s graduation from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and to celebrate his wedding two days later.  It was such an awesome experience.  So, for the occasion, I created this grad card for him using one of my all time favourite The Cat’s Pajamas sets called Take Off.  Knowing it was a very special occasion, I doctored this cute set, adding in Air Force symbols and uniform with a pencil and then a Micron Pen.  So, now he has an airforce uniform and airforce symbols on his plane!

I popped up the wing of the plane, and added the exhaust from the plane poped up as well.  The background is ink blended with a retired TCP Cloud Stencil.  And let me say we had clear blue skies and very hot weather for the grad!

Here’s a couple of fun shots from the grad.  Vice-President Kamala Harris was the guest speaker, and she saluted and shook the hand of every one of the 970 grads.  It was a very fun experience for us Canadians!

Here’s our nephew shaking her hand on the big screen, and below, our 2nd Lieutenant with his Mom :)

We’re really proud of him!

The Bunny is a HS Grad with TCP

Hello!  Today I’ve got a High School Graduation to celebrate.  Our niece is graduating and I thought it would be fun to create a card to celebrate her with new TCP Goodies!  Our favourite bunny is created with a new set called Change the World!  I looked up her High School colours and used them as my guide for the whole card.  So, he’s got a maroon cap and gown, and I drew in a little big of his hood with a Copic Multiliner pen.

A lot of the design is just paper striping, including a fun sentiment banner from a retired TCP die and stamp, gold embossed on the banner.  I also added some cute wood veneer stars to the design giving them a bit of Copic colouring to coordinate with his brown bunny fur.

I think she’ll get a kic out of it.  He’s definitely cute and ready to celebrate!

TCP’s June Release is Soaring!

Hello out there!  I’m popping in for some pretty soaring stamp sets for you from The Cat’s Pajamas for June!  The theme this month is flight and you’ll find fabulous images and cut-files to play with.  I’m kicking off the month with 5 cute cards.  It’s also a new month, so that means the TCP Progressive Sale is up to 50% off now!

First up is this adorable bunny in balloon called Sky’s the Limit. this cutie was actually a mid-month release, but I love the image so much I had to throw it in today as well.  I began by colouring the bunny with Copics in these fun shades of coral and periwinkle blue.  I added a few defining details to the image with Prismacolor Pencils and trimmed it out.

I created a coordinating background with Watercolour to really give you the feel of a beautiful sunset ride.  A couple of TCP Stitched Clouds  and the sentiment is from TCP’s stamp set Scatter Joy.

Next up we’re flying a kite!

It’s Up, Up and Away!  This little dude is getting swept away by some great gusts today, but he doesn’t seem too bothered by it.  I’ve coloured up the penguin with Copics and found some great kite themed paper in my stash to accent the design die cut with TCP’s Four Seasons Duo Die to get that pretty deckled edge.

I also found an old kite die in my stash, so I used it to create a kite accent with a little baker’s twine bow to match.  A drawn black outline of the kite accent, and around the card tie it all together and almost give it a comic book feel.

Now we’ll buzz on over to the third design.

Bee Happy, Bee Gnomie showcases a fun Gnome in Bee attire, but it also has a lot of other great images, including this fun sentiment and the little sunflower sprays.  I created the background with the digital images of the flowers by randomly adding them to the background.  It’s like your own custom background paper.  I also added the little flower to the sentiment, and popped another one up.    Colouring is done with Copics.

A cheerful golden yellow bow ties it together.

Ever gone parachuting? I don’t think I could jump out of a plane, but our favourite Bunny is back with an opened chute, and it looks like he’ll make it to earth safely with this fun set Oh Chute!  I coloured him up with Copic markers and die cut the image.  I paired him with some blue patterned paper and added the TCP Cloud Border CutUps Die as an accent.

Perfect for any occasion you might have forgotten.

Last but not least, I have a design for anyone who’s SUPER in your life.

This set is called Superhero!  It’s a great set to customize for many loved ones, Mom, Dad, Son, Daughter and Friend are all included in the set.  I’ve highlighted the sentiment and my favourite super-bunny.  I picked some fun shades in turquoise and yellow, colouring with Copics, and accented the design with some TCP 3 x 3 paper stars.

A little touch of enamel dots and it’s complete.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour through the TCP June Release and all the flight themed designs!

Here’s a peek at all the NEW RELEASE items I showcased today.  And don’t forget about the Going Digital Progressive Sale at 50%!

Strong and Beautiful

Day Three of Power Poppy’s Enchanted Garden Release brings us another alluring set that makes my heart happy!  It combines gorgeous florals and lovely encouraging sentiments, it’s called Strong and Beautiful!   Here’s what Marcy has to say about it:

"Whether colored to the nines or stamped in a single ink, this illustration makes a gorgeous statement. An unfurling peony bloom is offset with ferns, lenten roses, and bluebells in a combination you won't find anywhere but Power Poppy. No matter how you rotate or crop this exuberant floral, you’ll come out on top! Five sentiments have clear letters so that you can color them in to coordinate with your palette, and each one carries an empowering or uplifting message. A single lenten rose (Hellebore) and fern frond can be used in conjunction with the main image or on their own. This stamp canvas measures 5" x 6”."

I just can’t seem to stop myself from making these tree peonies coral.  I think it’s because I secretly wish I had some coral ones.  Colouring is all done with Copics, and I did give the colour of the hellebores a rich rosy purple and those bluebells and fern were delightful to play with.  To tie in more of the purple theme, I added some soft background in V0000 and V000 shades.  It’s a great design for a birthday or wedding, or even a graduation.

Just bits of lace, silver cording and a button so that the image takes centre stage.  I just love show-stopper images like this.  It’s everything a colourist would want!

Fly

Hello!  Just popping in to remind you that there’s a fab colour challenge going on at The Cat’s Pajamas and you have one week left to enter.  Now, this card’s colours don’t exactly match the colour challenge...but I thought it would be fun to pop in and show you this design anyway.  It’s made with the awesome new CutUps die Stitched Fly.  It’s such a great design!  I cut out the whole piece twice and then popped out the background of the plate on the back design to brayer ink onto....I wanted to give it a fading sky sort of feel.

Then I popped up the front stitched pieces of the die cut outs and added some extra clouds into the design as well.  I like how it almost has a polaroid feel.  I paired it all up with the Wavy Stitched Border CutUps in blue, some button and twine it it’s all done.

Here you can see the dimension a little better.  Makes for a really easy card design!  I gave it to one of the grade 12 grads at Church, I thought it would work perfectly for him.

May’s TCP Blog Hop!

Welcome to the May Blog Hop at The Cat’s Pajamas!  All the beautiful sets, CutUps and CutAbles are now available in the store, and we thought we’d have one more go around showing off all the fun!

You should have come from the lovely Deborah’s blog on this hop.....and now here’s what I’ve got to show off...

I created a slider card with this adorable bear from I Are Fun!  I stamped the little guy on Neenah White cardstock and then coloured him up with Copics in some patriotic colours, cutting him out with a little border around him.  Then I used TCP’s Slider CutUps Die to create the channel in the card and the pull piece etc.  I love this little die!  It makes it so easy!  I decorated the card all over with the cut outs of the Stitched Clouds Die (free with $65 purchase!) or the stitched clouds.

Here’s the slider raised up to the top of the card (so cute!), and the accents I added.  The little heart along the cloud is from the new TCP Birdhouses CutUps die and I added some sparkly enamel dots to accent.

Here’s a quick close up of the bear (seriously, isn’t he just the cutest?)....and the inside of the card below.

Here’s a peek at the Copics I used too...

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop and now you can head on over to the next stop....Wendy M!

I Are Fun

Ready for Day Two of Sneak Peeks from The Cat’s Pajamas?

I’m ready to show you another really sweet set....are you starting to see the theme that’s going on?  Today we bring you I Are Fun...

Isn’t he just the cutest?  Somedays the thought of just taking off with an armfull of balloons sounds so inviting!  I had a lot of fun colouring him up with Copics and also paper piecing some of the balloons.

I kept the layout really simple because I was using all these fun patterns in the paper.  These are from Carta Bella - It’s a Celebration.  Perfect for the balloon theme.

For accent I’ve used the Stitched Clouds CutUps die again (love it!) and then the Bitty Banners CutUps Die along the bottom, then a button and twine to finish it off.

Here’s the Copics I used above and the sweet set and new CutUps Dies below.
