Love and Hugs Watercoloured Roses from SSS

Hello!  The monthly challenge on Instagram for Simon Says Stamp is watercolouring, so I thought I’d pull out one of my Simon Says Stamps sets called Beautiful Flowers , because it really IS beautiful!  I embossed the image onto Arches watercolour paper, and pulled out some of my Daniel Smith Watercolour tubes to paint.

It almost feels a bit like cheating when you watercolour over embossing.  The raised edges of the embossing hold your colours in each section so nicely.  This image has a lot of gold in it, so over all it was easy to paint. I used the coordinating dies for the set to die cut the image out.

I also created a background using a Gothic stencil and embossing paste with ink splatters.  It gives it so much great texture.

The sentiment is from the set, also embossed in gold, and a few mirrored sequins make it sparkly.

Loved Blossoms with Concord & 9th

Happy Thursday!  I love that you don’t have to use traditional colour palettes for Valentine’s!  You can embrace any colour you want!  And I sure did with these fun blossoms from Concord & 9th  Flower Medley Bundle.  I saw another card that inspired me with colours much like these, so I’m always taking notes or pinning things like that to remember for a future project.  The card I was inspired by wasn’t floral, but I think it really works to have these vibrant colours on a deep blue-green background like Juniper.

I found a little arrangement I loved and placed the on the Plaid Card Front Bundle  card base.  I also stamped and detailed the sentiment with coloured pencils so it had some definition to the letters.

Its bursting with colour and love!

Cupids Forever with TCP!

Well hi again!  I’m back today with an adorable design for Valentine’s or a Wedding that I think you’ll love!  It’s got so much classic vintage Valentine flair!  It’s new from TCP this month and is called Cupids Forever.  I think they are just adorable.

I started with some Copic colouring in peachy shades with a nod to Pantone’s 2024 Colour of the year this year “Peach Fuzz”.  I happen to LOVE peachy shades, so you might see more of these glowing peach colours ahead!  Each image was fussy cut out, and then placed on a mini slimline design with retired TCP dies to be vintage “windows” for each of them.

I’ve added some little hearts as accent between the cupids.  I chose not to add a sentiment because then it is open for use for Valentine’s and for a wedding.  To make it a bit more vintage I added some pretty crochet lace.  There are so many more cute cupids in this set too!

Aren’t they all just precious!  Thanks for joining me today.

Postage and Foodie Mini Valentines with TCP

January Release Graphic

Happy New Year TCP Friends!  I'm kicking off 2024 with lots of love.  I think it’s the best kind of theme for a new year, and a brand new The Cat’s Pajamas release full of all things adorable for January.

I’m starting with a set of mini Valentine cards in a postage stamp shape that are perfect for tucking in to a lunch, school Valentine’s or surprising your child or sweetie with a little note at any time of year.  I have 5 cuties to show you using the brand new Food of Love Digi set.  Oh my WORD, it’s just so darn cute!  Little pairs of food buddies and punny sentiments that have to make you smile.

We’ll start with this adorable little mushrooms!  I coloured all of the images with Copics, and finished off the detailing and blending with coloured pencils.

Because I wanted to make the images coordinate like a set, I ink blended a little soft blue around the edges of each little card as a nice backdrop, then I used a retired TCP postage themed die to cut out the shaped cards.

Each card is stamped with a postage mark from a retired TCP polymer set, and a coordinating heart “stamp”.

Each little card is then completed by cutting a folded inside just smaller than the postage die, and the coordinating sentiment from that pair.  I also created coordinating envelopes in the same theme, with blue patterned paper (cut 5”x 5”).

Here’s the sweet tomatoes.  You can also see the front of the envelope has a smaller rectangle postage die to address with a coordinating heart stamp.  I love those sweet matching details.

Love you...right down tomatoes!

Next, you stole a pizza my heart!  For this savory pairing I added little pieces of cheese with a white gel pen.

YUM, pepperoni!

I also added a heart on the back of the mini envelope where you can close it.

This one might be my personal favourite because I just love limes, and they were really fun to colour wiht the addition of highlights on the lime with gel pen.

I AM so glad you’re mine :)

And finally it’s a berry cute pair...

Blueberry and raspberries are perfect together.

Because you are berry special.  Such a delight to create these cuties!    I’m including a peek at the whole set.  Just look at the cute shadows you can use too!  Thanks for joining me today!

Ewe Complete Me for Valentine’s

Valentine Card with Sheep holding hooves

T-minus a few hours until Valentine’s Day!

In case you’re needing some last minute inspiration for a card for someone you love, I’ve got a sweet and simple cutie for you!  Today I’m using the TCP set Ewe Complete Me,  I’ve always loved these fun sheep!  Then when you pair them with punny sentiments they’re irresistible!

Red Valentine card with Sheep holding hooves

For this design I printed the digi and coloured the sheep couple up with Copics using C1 and C2 pointillism dots to give the feeling of fluffy wool.  And the ala’ Jerry McGuire Quote Sentiment just had to go in there too!  That’s just a great sheep style play on words.  I’ve trimmed them out with an arched die, using a tiny bit of “out of the box style” for the flower one of the sheep is hiding.

I placed them on a 3D embossed layer of deep red cardstock and added some red sequins within the embossed pattern to add to that tufted or upholstered look, and to mimic the arch of the die.

An enamel heart draws your attention to the sentiment and it’s complete!  Perfect for a last minute card for somone you love!

Cupid, Birthdays and Candles Oh My!

There’s been a lot of fun going on at The Cat’s Pajamas this month with the sweetest assortment of Birthday and Valentine’s goodies, and I’m back with a few more creations to celebrate!

With Valentine’s only a few weeks away, I’ll start off today with a fun love card!  Our favourite bunny is playing Cupid today and couldn’t be cuter, he’s Feelin’ Cupidy  and I’ve coloured him up with Copics, trimmed him out and placed him on a vellum lined layer so you can see the pretty background die.

The patterned paper colours create a great colour backdrop, and I’ve added retired TCP dies (hearts and the Love sentiment).

The background die was cut several times so I could add the different colours of patterned paper into the die.

Next a mini-slimline birthday design that also uses a bunch of patterend paper to make it feel extra celebratory! It’s Forget About the Cake!

Bunny is coloured with Copics, and then I’ve added some retired TCP Dies (balloons) to accent.

A little white gel pen on the balloons and strings gives them that reflective quality, and the feeling they are floating away.

Last up, I used the sentiment from the Sassy Birthday Digistamp.  This was a fun one to get inky!  For the background I did some ink blending with Distress Inks (Old Paper, Evergereen Bough and Grey) and then pulled out a retired succulent stencil from TCP and used the grey ink to stencil overtop.  Love the effect!

The sentiment from this set is used letterboard style.  I’ve highlighted a few of the parts of it with Copics, and then added it to the card with some sparkly paper and sequins.  A simple design that packs a punch!

Watercolour Roses are Love with Power Poppy

The sweet season of love!  Today I’m bringing out a beautiful image from Power Poppy called La Vie en Rose .  I decided to watercolour it in shades of coral and apricot on this mini-slimline design.  I seem to be doing a lot of this size card lately!

For the background I stenciled some Distress Oxide ink with a Slimline Diamond Builder Stencil from Pinkfresh and these great mini-slimline sized dies from Pink Fresh, as well as a retired accent die for the circle.  I inked the diagonal dashed die with color to give it a ombre fade that mimcs the diamond stencil.

The sentiment is embossed it two colours using the polymer version of this stamp set (retired), and accented with some petite enamel hearts to make a lovely LOVE card!

TCP Sneaky Peek Week with Monsters!

Welcome to Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat’s Pajamas!  We’ve got a delightful release ahead and I’ve had so much fun creating some adorable designs to show you.  Today we’re kicking it all off with Yeti to Party!

This fantastic little set is sure to bring a smile to your face with it’s collection of loveable “monsters”.  What’s also great is that Alma has designed coordinating dies for the set, so it makes for quick work putting together a card and you can bundle the stamps and dies together.  I started with this angelic looking little archer, ready to steal your heart with a fun peachy card -  great for any love or Valentine’s occasion.

I’ve paired him up with TCP’s Square Stamp CutUps Die as a postage-style frame around him, the Wish Tag Duo Die behind him, and of course the Lacy Arrows Die as accent.  Look at his toothy expression!  Isn’t he fun?  As you can see I stamped some of the hearts in the set onto the background to tie it into that Love theme.

I’ve added some Baker’s Twine to the tag and then a tiny sentiment from TCP’s set Conversation Hearts and their coordinating heart dies.

Here’s a peek at the Copics I used for colouring.  And below is the adorable stamp set and die bundle.

Movie Popcorn and 3D Glasses

We’re kicking off another challenge at The Cat’s Pajamas and this week it’s all about “Furry Friends”.  So, in that theme as well as Valentine’s Day coming up, I pulled out TCP’s adorable set,  Just Let It Happen.  After stamping on watercolour paper, I coloured it with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers.  It was fun to give them their wacky coloured 3D glasses too!  And who doesn’t love a big box of movie popcorn!

Just a simple layout that I’ve used a few times recently, with the Heart Border CutUps dies on designer paper, the X’s and O’s of TCP’s Hugs & Kisses CutUps dies, and then accented with TCP’s Nested Hearts CutUps dies and some twine.

They’re just so cute together aren’t they?
