Baby Week - Bunny Hatching with SU!

In what feels like a lifetime ago, I was a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, doing this for many years.  And along the way I collected a few sets that I just can’t part with.  This cutie is one of them - Everybunny, long since retired, but still with the most adorable images that work for both Easter and babies.

I used the cute little bunny hatched out of his egg and did a little Copic colouring on him.  Then I used some pretty dies from PinkFresh Studios called Essentials:  Mini Slimline Bundle to showcase him.

The pretty plaid in the background is layered dies from Concord and 9th, both the Thick Plaid and the coordinating Thin Pad dies.  They combine so nicely together.  A faux grossgrain die is from a retired TCP die.

A little baker’s twine bow, sentiment from another retired SU! sentiment set, and an enamel heart keep it simple and oh so sweet!  Baby cards are just the best to make.    Thanks for joining me today!

Baby Week with Waffle Flower

Hello!  I recently had a card sale and realized that I was lacking in the baby card department, so I went to work on a few cards for baby boys and girls.  Today I’m kicking off my baby week with this pretty design from Waffle Flower.  I used the basic postal stencils and A2 postal dies and then added some feminine flowers with the Wild Flowers Stencil.   It’s a fun feminine combination!

To make the pattern work in the postage stamp areas, all you need to do is layer the basic postage stencil over your die cut cardstock first, and then add the floral layers of the stencil overtop, so the petals and leaves stay in the stamp areas.  These perfectly peach and pink colours are a nice combination.

Then to finish it off I stamped some cute typeset style sentiments from some old Stampin’ Up! Stamps and die cut the sentiments.  A bit postage stamp marks are stamped, and a few enamel hearts finish it off.

Hope to see you back as the week goes on for more baby themed cards!

TCP March Release Dragons...and Laundry!

Hi There!  March has arrived and that means a new release from The Cat’s Pajamas!  And today I’m bringing you two cards created with new products!  My first design happens to contain one of my all time favourite TCP images from the set Bunnies in Flight.  I just think a Viking Bunny riding a dragon is a hoot!

I really had fun incorporating clear cardstock with this design to showcase the feeling of being suspended in mid-flight.

After colouring the bunny and dragon with Copics, I die cut some hill dies, as well as some clouds from a retired TCP die.  I made a small 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inside card with the hills that opens up for writing in, but then I layered the clouds and bunny inside and outside of the acetate cardstock.

Here you can see that even closed, it looks like he’s flying over the snow dusted hills (colored pencil lightly coloured), high up in the clouds!

Let the adventures begin!  It was a fun card to put together.

Next up is a sweet design that’s perfect for the laundry room, or even a welcome baby card.

This cutie uses the new digi Shine On.  I thought it would be adorable to create a frame around this punny saying with elements from the set.  So, I arranged it on my computer and then printed it out on Copic XPress It Blending paper, slightly lightening the transluscence so that it would have a softer effect for the pastel colours I wanted to use.

Colouring is done with Copics, with a few white gel pen accents, and then the centre of the frame is fussy cut out to create a window for the sentiment.  Placed on coordinating plaid paper, it has a fresh Spring cleaning appeal.  See how the washing machine is 1/2 full of H20?!

A few enamel dots add some fun 3D accents.

Stitching Saturday - Baby Birdie

Hi Everyone! I’ve got a new stitching card today using a number of products from Spellbinders, with a baby theme that is really darling.  I started with Spellbinder's  Stitching Petal Diamond Background and a pretty color palette of floss and then added this adorable Little Chickadee die in coordinating colours to the floss.

I think this sweet little bird really makes the card shine.  It’s perfect as a baby welcome accent!  The foiled sentiment comes from the Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer and it’s layered over a section of vellum to give softness.

Lots of fun colour to stitch with!

Woodland Babies with Concord & 9th

Oh babies!  Sweet, soft, squish able, gorgeous little ones.  It is always so lovely to celebrate a precious little one entering a family!  Today cards are a duo of baby designs using some older products from Concord & 9th that are so adorable.  They’re called Woodland Turnabout Stamp Set, and what’s wonderful about the set is that you can custom design your own “paper” with these woodland animals and use that same pattern to die cut out the sweet little woodland animals in the set.

First up I’ll talk about the baby girl design.  I used a portion of the background I created with this set to create a strip of pattern along the side of the card, then used the included sentiments and accents to create the sentiment section.  I also used dies from the Triangle Confetti Dies to accent the card with the tiny sentiment flags that coordinate the with the Colours of this month’s C9 colour combo on Instagram.  They spoke baby to me for sure!  I really love these colours together!

A tiny bunny and skunk accent the rounded sentiment area die cut from the stamped paper.

A couple of wood veneer stars accent the design.

And now we have the boy card...

Here is where you can see the entire pattern of the stamp set, and how much fun the colours are together.

For this design I also used the tiny triangles to coordinate with the colours of the paper, and a wee wood veneer star.

I love how it all comes together!  I think it would make a great theme for a baby shower!

Thanks for joining me today!

Baby Week: Baby Onesies

Having just done laundry, I remembered the scent of our baby’s clothes as they came out of the wash.  Such tiny little pieces of endless laundry that was so cute!  This adorable onesie is from an old Flourishes set that Marcy retired, (the same set that has the cute booties from the other day).  I’ve had it coloured up in my stash forever!  It’s coloured with Prismacolor Pencils in soft greens the turquoises, trimmed out an popped up on this cute little tag.

The tag behind the main tag is stamped with cute little hearts from another polymer set I have, and laid on a lovely plaid background using dies from Concord & 9th, the Thick Front Plaid and the Thin Front Plaid.  Cutting it out of three different colours allows you to fill in your desired parts of the pattern with different colours.

A few sentiments from retired SU! sets complement the design and a little button and twine finish it off!  I love sweet details like this for a baby card.  Hope you’ve enjoyed the sweet cards this week!

Baby Week: Precious One

I’m back today with another card for Baby Week on the blog! They’re so sweet to create!  I have an elegant design today using an old set that I think was from Flourishes, and illustrated by Marcy.  It contained sweet vintage baby items, including this little set of baby shoes that are so cute!  I’ve gone with a very neutral palette in all creams that would be great for a boy or girl.  Colouring is done with Copics, and I’ve added lots of texture in that cream on cream layering.

After colouring I die cut the shoes, added some pretty crochet lace, and then began layering with Spellbinder’s dies, and a lovely embossing folder from Spellbinders - Tufted.   The sentiment is from an old SU sentiment set that words perfect in it’s petite size.  A few wood veneer stars add just the right touch to finish it off!  It’s oh so elegant for a special baby!

Baby Week with NEW TCP Stamps!

Hello!  This week I’m planning a little fun with baby themed cards, and today we’re starting it all off with the new releases from The Cat’s Pajamas!  I just love the sweet images in the new set, I’m Not Lion, and I saw baby cards in my head as soon as Alma showed it to us.  I’ve coloured this cute little guy in golden yellows and paired it with these great patterned papers that match perfectly.

There are cute little details and accents in the set like these stars and clouds that I added to the design.

And to finish it off I added some enamel stars that coordinate well with the patterned paper.  All out cuteness for a boy or girl.

Next up its a mini-slimline design using the new I Are Fun set.  What’s great about digis is being able to manipulate the image the way you want, so I made my baby bears on the smaller side and then reversed one of the images so they could be facing each other.  I printed and coloured them up no-line style.

I created a cloudy ombre sky with Distress Oxide inks and a retired TCP stencil, and added a fun sentiment from another retired TCP set.

These baby bears are ready to party!  Here’s a peek at the sets in action:

Be sure you check out all the cute items at the TCP Store this month!

New Stamping Styles with The Greetery

Do you have a preferred style of stamping?  Mine has always been a stamp I can colour.  But, it’s good to try out something new sometimes!  I’ve been eyeing up the beautiful sets at The Greetery for some time.  I love Betsy’s style and polish, so I finally bought some of the stamps, dies and stencils from this March’s release and am using  Springtime Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies on this card.

I was thinking about a baby shower design, and when I saw the umbrella in the set I thought it would be so sweet to have the flowers from the set bursting out of the umbrella.  The teeny tiny images take a little getting used to, but it was so fun to put the pieces together, almost like an intricate puzzle.  I’ve stamped all the layers and added some prismacolour pencil colouring to bring in the details.

It’s all placed on a watercoloured background, and I’ve framed it up and added a few Nuvo iridescent dots as accents on the background an din the flowers like dew drops.

That little bunny is so darn cute!  Thanks for joining me today!

Rachelle Anne Miller’s Baby Giraffe

It’s always so fun to make a baby card isn’t it?  Today’s design is a precious one using Rachelle Anne Miller’s Giraffe and Bird Digital Stamp.  It has such charm and whimsy.  And her style really plays off of a light and airy theme.  For this design I took my colour cues from some Echo Park Hello Baby, It’s a Boy patterned paper.

Simple touches like a ric rack ribbon die and stitched grosgrain accent.  The sentiment is from an older Stampin’ Up Set I had in my stash.  I thought the font was especially sweet and kept with the illustration theme.

Ready for the next baby who comes along!

Here’s a peek a the Copics I used below.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great day ahead.

January Blog Hop and Sweet Lamb

Hello everyone!  Hasn’t it been a great week of sets and dies with The Cat’s Pajamas?  We hope you’ve had fun and have been inspired.  It's sure been fun showing them to you.  Today we’re hopping along to showcase some of the great things being released this month.  You should have come from the lovely Julee’s blog along the hop, and if any links aren’t working along the way be sure to see it all at the TCP Blog.

Today I have an adorable little design with a new Die combo from The Cat’s Pajamas called Lamb/Bunny/Chick Die.  I LOVE this series of dies that Alma has started to introduce and this one is really great because it is interchangeably 3 different little critters.  So you really get your money’s worth on this one.

I started with the lamb because he’s just so darn cute!  I paper pieced the layers together adding a little bow from the NEW TCP’s Easter Basket Die.  All I did to alter it was to cut the bow down to fit in her wool.

Isn’t this alphabet paper perfect?  See if you can spot the little sheep in the paper.  I added some pretty patterned hearts from TCP's  Nested Heart Dies, and stitched the layers together.  It makes for a sweet baby design or just a note of love for someone special.

The sentiment is stamped with TCP’s Shake Rattle and Roll stamp.  Totally precious!  Here’s a peek at these awesome dies!

Thanks so much for joining us this week for the January Release!  I hope you go away inspired!  Be sure to head over to visit Brenda's Blog along the Hop.

And stop by The Cat’s Pajamas Store!  All the awsome stamps and dies we’ve shown you are available now!

Stitched Foxes, Trees and Bears Oh My!

Today I’m bringing you TWO sweet projects from The Cat’s Pajamas!

First up is this adorable little Stitched Fox card.  This whole series of stitched dies that Alma has released this month is SO precious!  I had a great time making a little felt fox from the forest.  I highly recommend wool felt as it cuts so much better than craft store felt.  I love his fuzziness!  He’s placed on a card base cut with the Birch Snowglobe Die.  To really add to the birch tree look I added a little Copic multi-liner into the trees.  It makes this black and white with accent palette pop.

To add some interest to the bottom row, I’ve used the Stitched Tree die to add delicate stitched leaves in white.  This die is awesome because there is so much in it to use, leaves, tree, mushrooms, flowers (like I’ve used for the fox) and the die outline.  The sentiment is from the NEW set The World is Yours.  To make the black and white contras really shine I added some plaid black and white paper as the background layer.

Next up are a pair of adorable baby tags!

This sweet little Stitched Bear seemed to me to be a perfect baby bear design.  I love the look of cute tags for a package, so I pulled out some fun baby-themed papers and die cut the bears in a boy and girl theme, put them together, and then placed them on TCP's  Wish Tag Die.

A few strips of patterned paper on each design to coordinate with the bears makes the the tags fun and full of colour.  I added a Nested Heart Die for the baby girl card, and a Stitched Cloud Die for the baby boy.  I stamped a sentiment from TCP’s Special Delivery stamp set, and some wood veneer accents.

To make the tags even more delightful, I’ve added a patterned paper Easy Stitched Bow to each tag, and tied with some Baker’s Twine.

Here is a peek at today’s New Release goodies I’ve shown you today.  They really are a great addition to your cardmaking collection.
