MFT Coloring Superstar Entry

Hello!  Today I’m throwing my colouring utensils into the ring at My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar Challenge - Coloring Virtuoso.  I had a great time combining a number of MFT sets and adding in some of my own hand drawn details to create this cozy Autumn scene.

I started with MFT’s Nobody Nose Me Like You Do - a since retired YUZU stamp set did some masking, and also added in the Scene Builder from Stacy Yakula. I hand drew the blanket and some of the hill line with a multi-liner pen, and then began colouring with Copics.

To add in more details and depth of colour, I pulled out my Prismacolor Pencils and Faber Castell pencils and added in more colour.  Its great for adding in textures like the Corgi’s fur, the texture of the jeans, straw hat and tree trunk.

Cutting the scene out with a Stitched Rectangle Scalloped Edge Frame die and a sweet sentiment strip finishes off the design.  It was so fun to create!

Puppy Love Notes

Happy Day to you from me!  I know Valentine’s Day was yesterday, but I think we can tell someone we love them any time of the year don’t you?  I have a cutie from The Cat’s Pajamas Live, Love, Bark stamp set.

Isn’t he cute tucked into that little envelope?  This design came together quickly.  Just some simple colouring on the envelope, and then a bit of gray in the shadows of the puppy, then cut out with the Coordinating Die for this set.

I softly sponged in some hearts in the background with a stencil, then added three ripped patterned paper strips behind the puppy and coordinating Hearts from the Nested Hearts Dies, and sentiment from an older TCP set, Conversations Hearts.  A trio of enamel dots finishes the design.

All of this to showcase our current TCP Tuesday Challenge.  This month it is to use patterned paper, so I hope you’ll jump in, there are two weeks left to join us.  If you win it means a $50 TCP Gift Voucher!

Magical Fibres & a Giveaway!

Hello Everyone!  Happy February!  I’ve got a fun week ahead here on the blog with some sweet inspiration, plus Giveaways throughout the week!  Today I’ve got a endearing design showcasing  The Cat’s Pajamas stamp set called Woof.  These pups with their cute faces are perfect to lighten your spirits.  I coloured this scratchy dude with Copics and then cut him out with the coordinating die for this set.   I made use of a whole bunch of fun patterned paper for this month’s TCP Patterned Paper Challenge.  I love patterned paper.  It’s such a weakness for me when I see it!  So, I love an excuse to bust out some colour and pattern for it.

I’ve also added a number of The Cat’s Pajamas dies into the mix for the design including TCP’s Porthole Duo Die for the circle layer, the fence, cut with TCP’s Slimline Suburbs CutUps and the little grass patch is cut with TCP’s Grassy Patches CutUps (see giveaway at the end of my post!)

I’ve added the sentiment from the set and a wood veneer heart to accent.

GIVEAWAY ALERT!
I have an extra of this adorable Grassy Patches CutUps Die from The Cat’s Pajamas that I’d love to share with a lucky winner.

It’s Pawty Time!

Popping in with a cute little Birthday design using a new set from My Favorite Things called - MFT Pawty Time.  I think Stacey Yacula is a great whimsical illustrator and I’m always in need of more BD cards.

For this design I coloured up that cute little kitty with Copics, paired it with TCP’s Party Plaid patterned paper  and a sweet sketch from MFT Sketch 503.  I trimmed him out and placed him on a stenciled star card base with the Card-Sized Star Confetti Stencil.

To match the sketch I added a couple of cute embossed presents in the circle features and a bit of pretty baker’s twine to complete the design.

Sweet and simple!

Meowy Christmouse

Not to be outdone by their buddies their buddies the pups of yesterday, these kitties want to be noticed in the next Sneaky Peek at TCP, the set is called Meowy Christmouse and they’ve got their own tower of celebration for the Christmas season, complete with a little mouse.

I’ve coloured up all the kitties with Copics and accented the scene with lots of snowflakes in the patterned paper, the background stamping and the Snowflake Border Die from TCP.

A few TCP Holeless sequins accent and add some sparkle!

Feliz Navi...dog!

Back with another fun Sneaky Peek Day at The Cat’s Pajamas!  Today we’re showcasing Feliz Navidog!  It’s a cute collection of pups, stacked up to form their own Christmas Tree.

All of the poochies are coloured up with Copic Markers and placed on a patterned paper Rectangle Stamp Die from TCP.  In the background I’ve used a NEW stencil in the store, Woodgrain, with our Big Beautiful Blending Brush and White Craft ink.  It’s perfect for fall and cozy-ing things up!

I’ve added a few pennants, some wood veneer stars and a bit of twine.  The puppies look very festive!

Cozy Corgis

Friday greetings friends.  I can’t believe it’s the last day of November!   It feels like the whole month passed by without being able to blink.  My husband and I had a celebration trip to beautiful Mexico for my birthday for one week, and then the day after we got back we trekked from our home in Alberta to North Dakota to empty out my in-laws' home, so it was ready for sale.  My husband’s parents are both in a nursing home now because of their health, so it is a lot of change for all of us.  It was a very full 4 1/2 days of heavy duty work to clean everything out,  them we drove back home in snow and ice, to go right back to work!  We’ve been pretty exhausted on all levels.

So I finally felt like creating again, and actually had a few hours to pull something sweet together.  I pulled out Power Poppy’s adorable  Christmas Corgis stamp set, and that sweet pair of loving pups, nose to nose under the mistletoe for this design, giving them colour with Copics.

After choosing some fun patterns of designer paper, I sewed some zig zag stitching, and added a pretty grossgrain stitched bow.  I felt like it just needed a little something else, so I also pulled out Power Poppy’s delicate and nostalgic set,  Grandma’s Snowflakes, embossing in white, and then used the coordinating dies to cut the shapes out.  I think it provides just the right accent.

Aren’t those snowflakes incredibly detailed?  It really feels like crochet, especially with the raised embossing.  A cute little sentiment from the set finishes it off!   Here are the copics I used below.
