Poinsettia Wreath Gift Card Trifold with Crafty Meraki

Hello Everyone!  Are you down to the last minute preparations for Christmas?  We’re pretty close to being ready.  And I’ve got a great last minute design to fancy up those Gift Cards that we often give at Christmas.  This one uses Crafty Meraki’s Festive Floral Stamp, and I’ve coloured it with Copics.  I stamped a few extra of the poinsettias to add to the design to make it really 3D.

The background is foiled with the lovely Crafty Meraki Jolly Holly Hot Foil plate in a perfecty peachy foil.  It coordinates so beautifully with the paper and wreath.  As you can see I’ve added some gold accents in the metallic dots, and I’ve lined the circle section of the wreath flap with gold pen.

The fun part of this design is it opens to be a tri-fold card, so I attached velcro to the flap and base.

And when you open it up, there’s a perfect spot for your gift card to slide into!

It makes for such a pretty gift card presentation.  This view shows how 3D the design is.

This will be my last design until Christmas is over....I truly hope you experience the moments ahead with great joy, hope, peace and the love of Jesus.

Peace on Earth Angel with RAM Stamps

Hello!  Popping in tonight with a precious little Christmas Angel from Rachelle Ann Miller called Peace Angel .  She’s just delightfuly isn’t she?  I’ve coloured her up with Copic markers and then added in lots of sparkle to the design with a shimmery glitter pen.  Contrasting colours of purple and yellow work really well together for this design.

The background is foiled with stars to coordinate and add lots of gold, and I also die cut some stars to accent using glitter paper.  This picture grabs a little of the shimmer from the pen in her dress.

I think peace on earth is a beautiful thing to herald at Christmas and through all seasons.  I pray it begins in me, and extends to my world.

If you haven’t finished your Christmas card and tag making, I’m including my RAM Stamps affiliate link provided at no cost to you....but every little bit helps me out!    https://rachelleannemiller.com/?ref=hyicmakm

Poinsettia Frame with Pinkfresh Studios

Hello!  I’ve got a few more Christmas themed creations to show over the next week, and today I’m strating with this beautiful poinsettia frame from Pinkfresh Studios called Poinsettia Frame cling stamp.  The gorgeous blend of flowers and greenery were really wonderful to colour up with Copics.

And apparently, I forgot that I have the coordinating die to the image, and decided to fussy cut the frame out!  I accented the design with a wonderful sparkly die cut bow, and added some texture to the background of the card with a quilted texture.

With all the colourful detail of the image, I just added a few enamel dots to accent, and a pretty die cut sentiment stacked up 3 x so it has some thickness and dimension, and appears like it’s floating on the card.    Here’s hoping you’re full of joy too!  Thanks for stopping by!

Silvery Fa La La with Crafty Meraki

Happy Sunday!  Today I am bringing you another Crafty Meraki design as part of their countdown to Christmas!  I can’t believe there are only 10 days to Christmas Day!  We’ve finally made some dents in our Christmas lists and some Christmas baking so I’m feeling a lot better about that.  I want to celebrate Advent not stress!

So, this pretty bejewelled design uses a few Crafty Meraki products.  I started with the Crafty Meraki Christmas Flower Layering Die, cut in silver cardstock, with teal greenery using the Olive Leaf Meraki Para-Dies.

Next I created the background with the gorgeous  Holly Jolly Hot Foil Plate in shimmery silver foil.  I added depth to the layer with ink blending around the edges.  Along the top edge of the layer I added a strip of shimmery Jade Shadows Dew Drops from Crafty Meraki, attached with Scor-Tape.

Then it was simply layering it all together with a very festive sentiment from Crafty Meraki’s Festive Flora Wreath Stamp set, embossed in silver and die cut with the coordinating die.   All that shimmer and glimmer is so classy!

Scandi Christmas Deer with TCP

Scandinavian Christmas Deer Greeting Card

Hello Friends!  I’m back today with a pair of delightful deer done in a gorgeous neutral Scandinavian style.  I do love the simplicity and warmth of Scandinavian style, so I went all out with the neutrals and woodgrain textures on this card.  I began with TCP’s Scandi Santa SVG and Digi Stamp combinationfor this design, only using the digital stamp of these pretty deer.

After printing and colouring with Copics and coloured pencil (for the gold scarves), I trimmed them out with my tiny scissors, then arranged them onto a diecut wood cut slice.  To keep the tones in that neutral/white combo, I used kraft white ink on the wood cut to bring out the texture of the grain.  This was placed on a card base with golden snowflakes.

A gold sparkle paper banner, die cut snowflakes, wood veneer stars and a pretty white embossed sentiment from a retired TCP stamp give interesting textures and shine to the design.  It’s not often I create with neutrals, but I love the elegance and simplicity of this one!

By now you’ve probably heard the sad news that TCP is closing at the end of the year.  It’s been my absolute delight and privilege to design for Alma for many years.  She is the best.   I will miss The Cats Pajamas for all its beautiful and unique style....and I’m also so grateful for all the fun and creativity we’ve had together!

Thanks for joining me today!

Love and Joy Florals with Concord & 9th

Hello!  Sometimes a card comes out even better than you had hoped, and for me, this is one of them!  I pulled together a colour palette that spoke Christmas to me and played with Concord & 9th’s gorgeous Festive Blooms Bundle.  I don’t think you can really go wrong with this bundle of dies and stamps!

I die cut all the pieces out and ink blended the poinsettias and magnolias, adding in white craft ink as snow or flocking on some of the greenery. That also serves to distinguish some of the elements from each other in a simple 4 colour palette.  The layers of the flowers are popped up from each other with foam dots for extra dimension and realism.

A simple touhc of poppy enamel dots and the sentiment from the bundle gives all the wonderful Christmas time feels!

Happy Country Christmas with Concord & 9th

Popping in tonight with a cozy country feeling design using products from Concord & 9th.  I started with a wheat base of cardstock and their Joyful Season Bundle of Turnabout stamps and coordinating dies.  The pretty colour palette is warmed up and toned slightly from the kraft shade of cardstock and gives a homey feel.

Then its all about the accenting dies of leaves, holly, berries and poinsettias to highlight the pretty sentiment banner.

With so much going on in the patterned background dies, nothing extra is really needed, so its an easy mailer.  Though in Canada our postal service is on strike - so its definitely a handed out card!  Have a wonderful cozy warm day!  We’re safe at home after a quick trip to the mountains, after a freezing rain/snow day, so I’m happily tucked in!

Thanks for stopping by!

Purple Watercoloured Poinsettia with Crafty Meraki

Feeling delighted to bring you a beautiful floral today!  I’m guesting with Crafty Meraki this month and their Countdown to Christmas.  This beauty uses Crafty Meraki’s Blooming Noel stamp set and coordinating dies.  I stamped the image multiple times, embossing it in silver.  Then I cut it out with the die in layers, watercolouring the leaves and petals with Daniel Smith watercolours.  I LOVE watercolouring, just don’t often take the time to do it.

Here you can get a bit of a better picture of the layers.  I’ve added foam dots between the sections so it has lots of dimension.

The background is created by inkblending Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet Distress Inks, with some splatter to give the feel of bokeh.  A pretty shimmery strip is cut with Crafty Meraki’s ZigZag Zoom Die set.

The sentiment uses Crafty Meraki’s Handmade Love Hot Foil Plate and silver foil, and for some bling I’ve added Sapphire Night Dew Drops from CM.  Sometimes a card comes together even better than you had hoped, and I really enjoyed creating this one!  Thanks so much for dropping by!

Merry Snowman with RAM Stamps

I don’t know about you, but it feels to me that November zoomed by and here we are at the beginning of December, with today being the first Sunday of Advent.  My little corner of the world is filled with snow, and I’m delighting in the cozy.  Today’s card uses the cutest image from RAM Stamps called Christmas Merry.  Isn’t that little snowman darling?

The image is coloured in one of my favourite Christmas combos using coloured pencils, with some white gel pen accent.  I had some fun creating the background with embossing some swirling snow, a misty spritz of colour and some ink blending to really make it feel like a blizzard.

To accent I’ve added sparkling glitter paper strips, die cut snowflakes and irridescent sequins that really make it sparkle.  Hoping that your season is Merry!

Festive Doors with Concord & 9th

Christmas is coming so quickly!  I have a few designs over the next week that celebrate the joy of the season. Starting today with this festive door from Concord and 9th.  Its called Door Decor Bundle perfect for so many seasons because of the flexible piece you can decorate your door with.  This design made use of Concord & 9th’s colour combo of the month of Pebble, Evergreen, Grapefruit, Parsley and Seaglass.

To really enhance the look of the doors, I ran them through a woodgrain texture plate and then ink-blended some Pebble ink into the grains.  I love the frosty windows using the dies in the set, and glitter paper.  And I’ve added in glass reflection on the windows with a glitter pen.  All the greenery is layered together with pretty ornaments and a bow on the wreath.

Looks like a lovely spot to enter into the celebrations!

Jeweled Christmas Florals with Power Poppy

We are snuggled up inside today because of what the National Weather Services calls “a major snow event”, where a good 8 - 10 inches, or 25 cm fell in the past 24 hours.  I have thoroughly enjoyed it - but I’ll admit, I wasn’t doing the shovelling.   So, tonight I’m in the mood for Christmas!  I pulled out this beautiful image from Power Poppy called Ultimate Poinsettia Digital Stamp set. Marcy always had the most beautiful arrangements of florals for any season, and this one is one of my favourites with the poinsettia and anemone flowers, plus berries and dusty miller greenery.

The image is coloured with jewel toned Copics, with finishing detailing done with coloured pencils.  I’ve die cut the image out of the box style with the tiny dusty miller greenery in the lower corner peeking out.  The background is foiled in light lilac with a Spellbinders called Glimmer Monoline Stars.

The sentiment is embossed on vellum with the Power Poppy set,  Joy to the World Bouquet. I ink blended Blueprint Sketch ink on the vellum to coordinate with the purply-blues.

A few pretty rhinestones give extra shine, and I accented the sentiment and corner with silver die cuts from Spellbinders Christmas Bird Poinsettia Die.   Appreciate you stopping by!

Be Joyful Foiling with Spellbinders

Sometimes you purchase something and don’t have enough time to really dig into it before the season is over.  Last Christmas season I bought the Joyful Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Spellbinders, and here we are....using it for the first time.  It’s such a pretty 2 plate die combo of letters and Christmas foliage.  I foiled it in gold, added in colouring with Copics and then gave it an arched die shape.

The foiled background uses the Layered Glimmer Holly Background Stencil and Glimmer die.  Foiled in red on deep red cardstock.  That tone on tone comes out so nice!   Next, to make the arched die really come to life I added coordinated die cut foliage from Spellbinder’s Christmas Bird Poinsettia Etched Dies.  It’s a great way to tie all the colours in together.

A added a strip of mirrored gold cardstock the the bottom of the card to anchor the image, but it was so shiny and bright - to tone it down a little, I ran my sanding block over it horizontally and vertically, and it had the perfect amount of sheen!

Thanks for joining me today!

The Red Christmas Car with TCP

Hi There!  Today I have a really fun design from The Cat’s Pajamas which captures all the delight and retro cool that TCP is known for.  This fun-loving snazzy cat called Sprinkles is zooming down the highways and byways to deliver the Christmas tree and presents.  It’s called ’Tis the Season.  Isn’t it cute?

I coloured the image with Copics, and added in detailing with coloured pencils.  Having recently been in England and having the delight of being in the famous black cabs - I was a little inspired by this car’s likeness to their style.  So - it had to be red, cause I mean, Christmas!  But, I was thinking of those black cabs as a coloured it up.  The tree almost looks too big for the car!

After trimming the image out, I placed him on the deep juniper green card base, with a foiled snowflake layer, background trees from a retired TCP die and simple die cut sentiments also from a retired TCP die.   Thanks for stopping by!

Creamy Kissed Christmas Florals with Crafty Meraki

Hello!  I’m delighted to be with you today working with Crafty Meraki’s Christmas Countdown, showcasing beautiful Christmas inspiration.  Today I’m back with a beautiful die called Christmas Flower Layering Die.  This die is designed to be stacked to give beautiful 3D effects to your floral.  I cut the layers of petals and leaves from cream cardstock, and then placed them on a sticky craft mat.  I pulled my stylus across the petals to create veining for more realism.  Then, I kissed the petals with some soft peach ink blending and gave the leaves layers of green ink.  It has such a beautiful effect.

Next I layered my flowers together with foam dots between the sections to really amp up that 3d feel.  I splashed some pretty gold shimmery mist onto the layers to give it shimmer, as you can see below.  The background texture is created with the cream on cream theme using Crafty Meraki’s Mini Slimline Parisienne Para Dies.  I also inkblended the background to tie it together.  Because its a slimline die, I just ran it through sections of paper, and added in the piece as a design detail.

The pretty Joy sentiment from Crafty Meraki’s Festive Flora Wreath Stamp Set, and I embossed it in gold.

Simple gold enamel dots accent the sentiment for more touches of gold.  It has a lot of dimension and I’ll probably need to create a special envelope for it ....but oh so worth it for the effect!

Thanks for joining me today!

Holy Night Nativity with RAM Stamps

Happy Wednesday evening!  Have you explored the wonderful world of RAM Stamps recently?  Rachelle has a treasure trove of gorgeous designs with such sweet whimsy!  At the end I have a special coupon for you at RAM Stamps, so don’t miss it!

I could not resist this beautiful image Nativity Scene Creator to work with for Christmas.  She’s captured Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus so tenderly, and you can design the scene any way you like, including puffy sheep and wisemen, (which I didn’t include).

I wanted to spend more time on this image using coloured pencils on kraft paper, so I took my time wiht the layers of colour.  I kept any other detailing very simple so the image takes centre stage.

I did add a textured stripe die background for the slimline card base, and some white gel pen stars in the distance.  "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!"  (2 Corinthians 9:15).

As a way of saying thank you for being a faithful reader - I’m extending my 10% off coupon to RAM Stamps - use CHRISTINEOKKEN at checkout!
