Party Hats with Concord & 9th

It’s a Party Hat kind of day!  I’ve got adorable new designs from Concord & 9th to play with and since I’m in need of more Birthday designs, I started with the cute Party Hat Inlay die that came free with purchase.  Its the cutest concept for an inlay design.  And because you cut out different layers of dies for colour, you have a lot of templates to use for future designs.

Today I started with this fun palette of Seaglass, Tidepool Juniper, Lemongrass, Watermelon and Wildberry and interplayed the colours in each card.  The sentiment on the left card uses Everyday Expressions die.

And this card uses a sentiment from  Short & Sweet dies.    Both cards have some holeless sequins to add touches of sparkle.

They make such a sweet pair!  Thanks for dropping by!

Award Winning Retirement with The Greetery

Hi There!  Today I’m bringing you another instalment in a seriew of cards I made for a friend to give to co-workers.  This one was designed for a man who was retiring, so I wanted it to have a bit more of a masculine feel.  I picked up my new goodies from The Greetery from their Confetti Encore Collection.  If it’s a celebration, this bundle of products is the perfect way to create great designs.

I began with a fun colour palette (Concord & 9th Mushroom, Seaglass and Tidepool), and then went about foiling the Ticker Tape Hot Foil plate in silver on deep charcoal cardstock.  Next I added in layers of Curly Q Streamers Dies (they really make it feel like a party!), and then formed my fun Award Winning Die into a “blue ribbon” using the sentiment from the Inflated Sentiments embossed in silver for the sentiment.  Little touches like silver metallic cardstock add to the award winning feel of the design.

I think it combines to make a really fun card that is full of celebration.  Also - perfect for masculine or feminine designs depending on the types of paper you use.  Thanks for joining the party with me!

Too Old for Balloons? With TCP

Hello!  I’m popping in today with a cute slimline Birthday card with TCP’s March set called Bunnies in Flight.  I think him being carried away by balloons is adorable!  After printing the digi, I coloured him up with Copics, and then trimmed out the edges of the balloons “out of the box” style, and then ran the image through a circle die.

To create the background I used a retired TCP stencil and some white pigment ink to create the clouds in the sky, and then added a whole assortment of cute little banners from another retired TCP die in the colour combination to make it full of celebration!

A few enamel stars finish the design along with a fun little sentiment for the Birthday person!  Thanks for joining me today for a little creativity!

TCP’s May Release!

Hello!  Welcome to the The Cat’s Pajamas May Release.  Today I’m showing off three cute cards with lots of fun attached.

Kicking it all off is a Mexican Fiesta!  In fact I’m writing this on May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, so it’s especially fitting!  I’ve used the partying penguins from the new digital set Trio de Mayo.  I paired them with some fun desert themed designer paper with cacti, so I thought it would be fun to make it a night-time party using County Fair CutUps die to mimic Mexican Papel Picado flags that always highlight a party.

The vertical lines on the navy designer paper add to the feeling of hanging party lights.

All the images are coloured with Copics and trimmed and popped up on the scene of this mini-Slimline card.

Next up is this adorable belated Birthday design using this fun new digi Never Forget.  This elephant is so charming that how could you be mad he forgot the date?

I’ve coloured him up with Copics, and for fun, to create elephant skin texture on him, I used some Saran wrap with Copic blending solution to lift some of the ink and make him wrinkly.

He’s paired up with some fun paper flowers to match the illustration from TCP’s Flower Wagon CutUps Die, and a little white picket fence from TCP’s Slimline Suburbs CutUps Die.  All on a sky-blue petite polka-dot patterned paper sheet.

And last we’ve got a fancy tea party for fun!  This kitty is all dressed up for Tea Time with this new digi.  I’ve added some of the party accessories onto the table, and then I paper pieced a really fancy patterned table cloth from this pretty sheet of paper.

Because it’s such a bold pattern I kept the details simple with just the addition of a TCP Easy Stitched Bow in a pretty coral.

Cheerio!  I hope you had fun seeing some of the great things in store this month at The Cat’s Pajamas!

Don’t forget that there’s also a Progressive Sale going on with all in stock items.  This month it means 40% off!

Have Yourselfie A Happy Birthday

Hello All!  I’m popping back in with a card I made for my brother’s Birthday this week.  We celebrated with him last night in an outdoor family get-together.  These are times when we all miss my Mom, because she was such a good “celebrator”.  But, we are also grateful to be able to still celebrate.

So I made him this bright and bold card with the adorable newer set BB Picture Perfect Party Animals from MFT Stamps.  These polaroid style selfie pics are really cute, and I played along with MFT’s Color Challenge this month.  It helps jump-start my creativity when I’ve not created much to play along in some challenges.

We’ve got a fun gorilla and lion party-ing it up with some celebration banners (County Fair Dies from The Cat’s Pajamas) and then some sequins to give it some party sparkle.  The background paper is MFT’s Party Patterns.

Colouring is all done with Copics (Gorilla - E71, E74, E77, E79, W2, W5, W7, R14, R17, R29, Y13, Y17, Y38) and Lion (Y32, Y35, E97, E99 and R14, R17, R29, Y13, Y17, Y38).

See you later this week with an ALL NEW and amazing Power Poppy Release!

Hop to the Party of the Summer!

We’ve had a perfectly wonderful week of the Midsummer Stunner Release at Power Poppy!  You can now order all the sets, so we thought we’d throw a party and celebrate with today’s Blog Hop.

How could you resist this tower of pretty presents?  I knew it was the only I wanted to play with today.  I found some fun paper in my stash that had a summery celebration feel (MME Jubilee - Mint Julip) and cut out rows upon rows of scallops to pair with the gifts galore.  It’s a little over the top and feminine, but it’s fun :)

I added some embossed swiss polka-dots behind the presents and added the pretty banner, some twine and enamel dots to pull it all together.

Inside I added another sentiment from the set with the addition of some fishtail pennant style flags.

Here’s the Copics I used....and now how about some more fun news???

Marcy’s offering a discount code from now till July 1!  It can be on any combination of stamp sets or digitals, so it’s the perfect time to stock up for summer!

Now Hop along to visit the rest of the Bloom Brigade on our party today....thanks so much for joining us on a fun week of Sneak Peeks, we’re so glad you enjoyed them!

Tea in the Garden

Welcome!  Let’s throw a party today shall we?  The two sets we’re showing off from Power Poppy today are full of celebration, whether it’s a Tea Party in the Garden or a big bash Birthday Party, we’ve got you covered with fantastic sets!  We’ve got Tea in the Garden and Party Time.

I’m playing with the lovely Tea in the Garden because I just fell in love with this gorgeous pound cake on a pedestal bedecked by juicy strawberries.

This just speaks country garden to me!  So, in creating I had to pair it with some lovely gingham, polka-dots and rich red and green.  In my world all pound cakes should be chocolate, so that’s what I coloured mine as, glistened wth some drippy white icing and looking very tasty.

I’ve got some scallops, ric racks, a few enamel dots and some baker’s twine finishing it off.  Now we’re ready for the party....as you can see I got a little ahead of myself and had a piece already, but now that I’ve tested, I know it’s ready for company!

Party on with the rest of the Bloom Brigade today....I know they’re ready to celebrate!

Go Forth and Eat Cake

               Happy Tuesday!

The Kitties in The Cat Pack at The Cat’s Pajamas have a great new challenge for you this week...it’s Anything Goes!  So that means you can put anything together from TCP and play!

Since Birthday cards are often in need, I pulled out this fun set Forget About the Cake from TCP and did a little Prismacolor pencil colouring and paper piecing with this cute paper from Echo Park - Fine and Dandy to create this fun birthday cake design.

Polka-dot icing sounds like fun, so I paper pieced that part of the cake, and also created these fun banners with the Bitty Banners CutUps Die.  The sketch is a cute one from Deconstructing Jen.  I sponged the inside of the die with some Memento Summer Sky ink to soften the effect.

It’s just a few fun buttons to accent the design and some washi tape to give it some colour pop.

Go Forth and Eat Cake friends!

Now I hope you can pop on over to see what the other girls in the Cat Pack have to show off to you today.  Then we hope you join us in the Anything Goes Challenge!
