Petite Flower Frame with Alex Syberia

Floral Framed Best Wishes

Hello on this Wednesday Eve!  I’m back with some more pretty and petite flowers from Alex Syberia called Grateful Heart it’s a digital design and right now Alex Syberia is working on a reopening, so I won’t be able to link the image, but oh isn’t it the sweetest?  I love the little flowers in a frame.

Colouring is done with Copics and finished with coloured pencils, and then I fussy cut out the center of the design to make room for the background of the card base in this pretty Briar Rose colour from Concord and 9th.  That layer is run through the Quilted Card Front Die.

I die cut the sweet sentiment from Concord & 9th’s Everyday Expressions dies, layered 3 x for some thickness.  Then a few enamel dots to sweeten the finish!    Pretty cute!

A Rosy Trellis with Alex Syberia

I was in the mood to colour, who am I kidding, I’m always in the mood to colour....so I pulled out an image I had printed from Alex Syberia Designs digital images.  A gorgeous arrangement of roses called Sending Love Bouquet.  The design is coloured with Copics, finished with coloured pencils, and then trimmed out fussy cut style.

Next we have layers of beautiful saturated and ombre ink blended Wildberry (Concord & 9th) ink and paper, with the “trellis” cut from the Plaid Cardfront Thick die from Concord & 9th.  I also used the Quilted Cardfront Die on the base layer to add additional plaid and texture.  A layer of vellum creates softness behind the flowers.

A banner strip of cardstock run through Spellbinder’s Floral Frenzy 3D Embossing folder anchors the foiled sentiment, using Must Have Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil.

A few clear dew drops accent the design looking like drops of water.   Appreciate you stopping by!

Happy Day Florals with Alex Syberia

Hi There!  Today I’m bringing you another oh so lovely floral from Alex Syberia Designs.  It’s another Digital Image from them with such amazing colouring potential!   Because they are in the process of moving, I can’t locate the design on the shop, but it’s called Flower Garden Card Panel.

One of the things I’m loving lately is finding unique colour palettes, whether through other cards I’m inspired by or products I see, and then swatching them with Concord & 9th’s colours so I have an inspiration jumping off point for cards.  This was a fun one with the warm shades on the petals and the cool shades in the leaves.

I’ve combined Copic colouring with coloured pencils to finihs off the design.  Because the flowers are so vibrant I wanted them to take centre stage, so I added a small sentiment from Concord & 9th’s cutie patootie dies Short and Sweet.  They are stacked 3 x to get some added height, and then it’s really simple embellishments to accent the sentiment, and coordinate with the colours.

All layered on a 3D embossed card base with Spellbinder’s Embossing Folder.
It’s a great day to have a happy day!

Inky Blossoms with Alex Syberia

Hello!  I hope you’ve had a great day today!  Do you ever rediscover a technique after not using it for a while?  The most recent Instagram Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is ink blending, and I’d forgotten how wonderful it is for adding colour blends, especially with emboss resist!

I started this lovely design with Alex Syberia’s digital stamp Full Bloom (from May 2020).  Coloured up the blooms with Copics and coloured pencils.

Next, I tooks the background stamp from Simon Says Stamps called Lace Heart Kaleidoscope embossed it in white and then used ink shades that coordinated with the colouring to create an ombre background.  I love the pops of colour and blends between the colours, and it makes such a nice background for the card.  I also cut a few Big Branches: Ruscus Die from The Greetery onto white cardstock to ink blend as accents.  The leaves coordinate well with the stamped design.

I also foiled a pretty sentiment onto vellum from Spellbinders Slimline Confetti Background doing some fussy cutting to trim it out.

Vibrant and saturated.  Just how I love my flowers!  Thanks for joining me today.

Joy and Poinsettias with Alex Syberia

Hello Lovelies!  How is your Christmas preparation going?  Yet again, this beautiful season finds me behind in just about everything, but I’m choosing to relax about it.  Maybe I don’t need to do everything?!  Even our kids are having a hard time suggesting things for their Christmas Wish List.  And I count our life very blessed that in the midst of all the brokenness in the world that really, we don’t need  extra things to be joyful.

I’ve created a card for you today that has that joy theme from Alex Syberia Designs called Vintage Collection - Warm Wishes Bundle.  Delightful to put some time in Copic colouring the festive scene, as well as splatters of white acrylic paint.

For extra sparkle on this design I have a sparkly foil sentiment from The Greetery - Opposites Attract Holiday Foil.  I’ve also added the sparkly snow with Mica Flakes.

Here’s hoping you can see some joy in your heart and life this season!  Thanks for joining me!

Alex Syberia Designs - Dreamy Florals

Sometimes you’re just in the mood to colour something really beautiful, and for me I always lean toward florals.  So, I picked up a few images from Alex Syberia Designs in her digi files, this one called Just Wonderful Floral Slimline.  Those petals and that sweet little bird stole my heart!  They have a November Colour challenge on the blog with a bluey-purple to green palette, so though this design isn’t Christmasy (maybe in the tropics!), the colours work perfectly for the card.

I pulled out my Copics, worked with light blues to purples and then added some fun greens, and then that contrasting pop of orangey-yellow for that adorable bird.  After colouring with Copics, I pulled out my Prismacolor Pencils and added in some details to pull some of the colours together better and deepen the contrast between the petals so they pop from each other.  This was a really lovely one to spend time on.

The card base is ink blended to coordinate with the colours on the flowers and tie it all together.

The foiled sentiment is from Spellbinders, Yana’s Sentiments Glimmer.  I think I want to get more in this style because I use them so often.  They are just the right size to add to a card, and the scripty style is so pretty.

Thanks for joining me today for this colouring extravaganza!
