Dare to Get Dirty 2015!

Have you seen what time of the year it is at Splitcoaststampers?  It’s Dare to Get Dirty!  It’s a week of challenges where girls from the Dirty Dozen past and present issue challenges for Fan Club Members at SCS.  There are numerous challenges every day and it’s a lot of fun.

This year I’m not hosting any challenges, but I did volunteer to be a sample maker for several of them.  Today I have two designs to show you for two different challenges.

This first challenge is for CathyMac over on SCS, and I pulled out the brand new set from The Cat’s Pajamas Shake, Rattle and Roll, just SO cute!  I stamped the little guy on Kraft card stock and then coloured him up with Prismacolor pencils, giving him a cute patterned paper pieced diaper to match the dp.  This is an older pack I dug out from Memory Box called Valise.

For all the fun in the background I used the new Country Fair die to frame him up and give it the look of a celebration with the pennants.

Finished off simply with an embossed sentiment, enamel dots and some pretty seambinding.

Now for the next design I have a sample for Benzi’s challenge...

I started with the very beautiful Simply Camelias Set from Power Poppy, stamped on Xpress It Blending Cardstock and coloured up using pointillism and my Copic markers.  I created some framing with my stitched rectangle dies and this dp from MME - On Trend...I love it’s gold shiny elements.  In the inset of the frame I used Power Poppy’s Big Scripts set stamping hello in Pool Party ink and then added some pointillism to give it that cohesive but dreamy look.

Finishing details are some simple sequins to go with the gold in the design.

And there you have it....two samples for Dare to Get Dirty!  I hope you can join in on the fun!

A Big Basket for Easter Eggs

Hello again everyone!  Crazy...more than one post in 24 hours!  But I'm back with the Sketch Card I wanted to finish up today.  It's an Easter theme :)

Here's Mr. Bunny on his way looking for Easter eggs, and the BIG basket is waiting for him to find them.  :)  I was originally going to have him hold that basket but you can see it's way too big for him to hold and still look alright.  So today's sketch challenge at SCS was perfect for the two focal points.

Outside of the copics I used to color, everything else is SU, though the paper is retired, I love it's boyish plaid and stripes.

Ok gang, laundry is calling me!  I'll be back tomorrow with another Easter card, I just HAVE to use some of my Easter stamps before Easter is over!   You don't mind hey?

Stamps:  Stampin' Up! Picnic Parade, Teeny Tiny Wishes;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Baja Breeze; Paper:  Kraft, Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, SU! DP, Flourishes Classic White;   Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Copic Markers, Kraft Seambinding, Scallop Punch, Dimensionals, Piercer, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Sponge

Spring in My Step

Good, good day everyone!

We've had some happy news in our house.  Earlier this year our daughter applied for an IB Program (International Baccalaureate) at a High School she very much wanted to get into, it's out of our district, and they are almost always over subscribed in applications, so getting in is not a guarantee.  We've been waiting on pins and needles and got the call today, she's IN!  Woo HOO.  She'll be going to school with one of her very best friends from church, lots of other kids from church and one of her best friends from JH.  We're so grateful!

AND, son #1 applied for a special program in the Junior High he'll be going to in the fall....we also found out last night, he's IN!  And he's overjoyed, so are we!  It's amazing how much energy you put into "waiting", but we also feel so happy to know our kids are in the palm of God's hand, and we're looking forward to what next year had in store, despite the crazy-ness of having a HSer, a JHer and an Elementary kid!

I've stamped for some challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  I never get to do that anymore.  It was fun! This one was for the color challenge, with the colors of Concord Crush, Crumb Cake (Kraft - I'll never get used to calling it Crumb Cake) and Ivory.  I used the SU Sale A Bration set and colored it up with Copic Markers, and used my NEW Spellbinders (Fleur de Lis Rectangles) to frame it up.    The centre bloom is popped up...and again to me the pic looks a little fuzzy.  :(

Here's a bit closer, I added some dots into the outline with my Stampin' Write marker in Kraft to match the blossoms.

I hope to get a sketch challenge card done Wednesday and I'll post it here too

Tidbits:

1.  I'm getting really close to 300 000 hits and 300 followers.  At that sweet 300 grand mark I'll be having some SWEET Blog Candy that I've been saving up for...so stay tuned!  I'm excited to say thank you to you my readers :)

2.   Lately I've had more friend requests on facebook, and you'll also notice I haven't responded.  There's a reason  - honest.  Facebook for me is primarily ministry related.  My husband and I are Youth Pastors and we work with minors.  So, facebook is primarily work (as in ministry) and personal.  And because I work with minors I need to be really careful what's on my page and who sees it.  So, in that way I'm pretty private.  Just so you know - I don't post anything creative or any of those type of notices or links there.  I try and keep my two little worlds separate.  Blog for creative, fb for personal and ministry.  So, that's the FYI for you, I'm really not trying to be a snob or anything!

Wonderful

OOO ignore the post title for just a minute....I'm so mad the Red Team sent Arthur home on the Biggest Loser!!! ARG!    I so hope he wins the at home prize!

OK....back to the post.

Lots happening here....our little nephew is HOME from the hospital which I'm so grateful for.  Our daughter is in the search for a High School and it's Open House Central here.  It's really a big decision!  So many elements to consider to find the right fit for her.  We've found 3 really good schools that are in the running so far.  We need to decide by early next month :)  I'll have a High Schooler soon!

And I had a little time to create tonight and was delighted to be able to play in the SCS Sketch Challenge.

I love the simple clean lines of this pretty SU Set - Every Moment!  It was great for this clean design in the sketch.  I colored the bird and bull-rushes with Copics and added some simple sewing and accents.    Do you see the tiny sentiment tab on the top?  It reads wonderful - from the sentiment.... I didn't want to distract from the design.

Papers are old SU, Parisian Breeze, which has such pretty texture.

Does my blog feel a little naked to you?  Me too.  I was messing around with some things in the design today and was so proud of myself because I figured out something that's been bugging me in the HTML code, but in the process messed up my sidebars!  Hopefully I can figure out how to get it back!  LOL!

Have a wonderful Wednesday ahead!

Stamps: SU - Every Moment;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Flourishes Classic White, SU - Parisian Breeze DSP;  Accessories:  Copic Markers, Circle Punches, Kraft Seam Binding, Twine, Corduroy Brad.  Dimensionals, Sewing Machine.

Welcome Baby

Hey there friends.  I'm having a lazy Saturday at home with the family and have been puttering around with some of my new stamps from PTI, and I found a gorgeous Inspiration picture on the SCS Inspiration challenge today....it's perfect for some of the last Baby Card samples for my Brother and Sister-in-Law, this one is really Clean and Simple.

Last night we had a Girls Event with the youth and I forgot my camera there....so today I'm taking pics with my daughter's camera...so they're not as crisp and clear or lit as I'd like ....  once I get my camera back I'll try to take some better pictures and replace them.

Here's the inspiration room it's just darling:

If you click on the link below you can see it all close up....but I really LOVED and what inspired the card was the baby bumper in the crib...its a row of animals together in colors of Sahara Sand, Cajun Craze, White and Marina Mist...

Leo Crib Bedding Collection for Baby Boy Nursery | Serena & Lily

So I colored up the row of cutie animals from the Tiny Treat Birthday set with Copic Markers (W1, W3, B12, E08)  and then the monkey in the circle as well.  Aren't these animals just adorable???   I've embossed the strip and the circle with the PTI Letter Impressions.

I just LOVE this sentiment set too, it's called Simple Sentiments, I love how clean it is with such sweet words,  I've accented it with mosaic tiles from Flourishes.

Such sweetness!  I'm hopeful our little nephew is out of the hospital in the next few days.  I'm so anxious for him to be better from the RSV and to be home!

Busy Sunday ahead here, I'll be back on Monday or Tuesday....and you'll hear some very COOL news from me next week.  I can hardly wait to tell you!

Baby Week! Oh Boy!

Well, for the next week I've decided to devote my designs to all things BABY :)  With the birth of our nephew I told my sister--in-law that I'd make her Thank You cards again for them...so I'll be trying out some design samples this week on you, and you can tell me what you think.  Now it will be all boy of course, but the designs can always be altered by color and embellishments for a girl.  I'm trying to keep them generally simple so that they can be recreated in greater numbers.

Here's number ONE :)

I got this adorable new set To the Moon from Verve specifically with these cards in mind actually.  How can you resist that adorable frame with the elephant in it!  ACK!  Cuteness!

I took my color palette from the cute turquoise-y elephant on the fabric on the Zoya B site (wow you could get lost in there!) which is the Inspiration Challenge on SCS today.   And the used one of last month's Verve sketches adding a few elements.  Isn't that little heart border punch perfect...it has the polkadots from the design and I used one of the cut out hearts from inside the punch to add to the little copic colored elephant.   All the papers are old SU ones...Soft Sky and then Prestwick DSP.

As you can see I added some BG0000 and BG11 to the face and trunk of the elephant...it does look a little more even than that in real life, I went a little too high on my saturation in this photo....but you get the idea.

And here's the little self that I'm so enamoured with....

You'd swear I'm his mother the way I want to cuddle with him, but I get to send him home or to his Mommy when he cries :)  He was 2 weeks early so he's just 6 -7 lbs...and his little bum fits right in my hand when I'm holding him.  Ah babies....such a picture of the goodness of God.  Have a great Saturday and weekend friends....I'll be back with more baby goodness this week.

Stamps;  Verve - To the Moon;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Soft Sky, Basic Grey, Soft Sky Prints, Prestwick DSP;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Nesties, Scalloped Oval Nesties, Circle Punch, Martha Stewart Hearts Border Punch, Soft Sky DS Ribbon, Dimensionals, Copic Markers, Piercer

Happiness

Hi Again!  Today's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS is to use the Faux Tile technique that was showcased a few weeks ago on Splitcoaststampers....I thought it was a gorgeous technique and thought I'd give it a try today.  I'm not typically a very "technique-y" person but it's nice to play a little sometimes right?

I pulled out one of my all time favourite stamp sets from Flourishes - Cherry Blossoms and colored it up with Prismacolor pencils, then cut it into 1 x 1 inch squares.  After you cut it then I added UTEE embossing powder over VersaMark ink and heat embossed (this is where all the fussiness comes in).  I actually like the bumpy look it gives each tile...sort of an old world feel.  And the embossing seems to deepen the coloring as well.  After they cooled I sponged each square with some Marina Mist ink and then attached it to the Basic Grey cardstock with Scor Tape.  I also spritzed the squares with some Pearl Glimmer Mist to give them a touch of shine.   Which you can catch a little of below.

I'll be giving this to my sister--in-law today to congratulate her on a good job delivering that baby....still not telling you if it's a boy or a girl!

Stamps:  Flourishes - Cherry Blossoms;  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Marina Mist, VersaMark;  Paper:  Blushing Bride, Bashful Blue, Basic Grey, Flourishes Classic White, Blushing Bride Prints DSP;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Victorian Embossing Folder, Large Scallop Punch, Corner Rounder, Oval Punch, Square Rhinestone Gems, Pink Loop Trim, White SU Ribbon (ages ago!), Sponge, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, Blending Stumps, UTEE, Heat Tool, Glimmer Mist

Gather a Harvest of Love

Today I have a sweet little 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch card to show you for American Thanksgiving and the Sketch Challenge today at Splitcoaststampers.

I've colored up this beautiful bevy of fruit and veggies from There She Goes Bountiful Blessings Set , with some rich autumn colors with Copic Markers.  I've sponged the edges with Ranger Distress Rusty Hinge.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey Indian Summer.

We have so much to be thankful for.... I really want to be a person who doesn't take that for granted.  My Dad is home from the hospital with some new medications that seem to be taking care of his heart, and he won't need a pacemaker yet.  Our kids are healthy and full of life.  Just yesterday we had Parent Teacher conferences for our sons and both teachers talked about their character, leadership and what a positive addition they are to the class.  What more could a parent want?  I am blessed with love all around me, and especially a husband that is the best friend I could ever have.  This year American Thanksgiving is also his birthday ...so I can be doubly thankful.

Have a great day friends!

Word CardMaking Day!

On this World Cardmaking Day (woo hoo!), Flourishes is joining SplitcoastStampers by giving folks 'Hope they can Cling to!' Whether the stamps you use cling to acrylic or wood, they hold the power to convey hope and lift the spirits of anyone who sees what you create with them. That is the inspiration for SCS's "Hope You Can Cling To" stamping campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
All this month, SCS is partnering with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. The campaign kicks off TODAY! You can read up on the card drive and all the challenges at Splitcoaststampers. To honor this heartfelt drive, Flourishes decided to offer up one heck of a challenge!

Here's the Challenge: Since women come in all shapes and sizes -- let's honor that! There are tall and skinny, round and shapely, even a little boxy. So, let's ditch the A-2 sized cards (4-1/4" by 5-1/2")and get creative. Anything goes! If you do that AND use ribbon, you'll get two entries! If you use a non-standard shape card, use ribbon and use the color pink, you'll have three chances to win! Let's see what you can create! When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword: FLLCWCMD10. You have until October 31st to enter and will have a shot at winning a goody bag which includes our Fight Like a Girl set supporting breast cancer survivors!

I've used this great set "Think Pink - Fight Like a Girl" from Flourishes for my card today.  I have to say, I think it is one of the most creative, uplifting Breast Cancer Awareness sets out there anywhere.  Do you see the breast cancer ribbon swirls hidden in the flamingo's feathers?  I've colored it up with Prismacolor pencils and OMS for blending.  The sketch is this week's Mojo Sketch, and added a breast cancer pink ribbon with a gem inside to accent it, as well as our new Mosaic tiles along the bottom.   My card is 4.25 x 4.25 square :)

I've used the great Lacey Squares Nestabilities, combined with Square Nesties and added 2 types of ribbon, this great  black and white gingham, and this pretty scalloped ribbon too.

Also Flourishes is hosting a World Card Making Day Sale – everything is 10% off. Just use the keyword WCMD10 in the coupon code box at checkout!

Here's our other Flourishes girls playing today....

    See With Our Hearts

I have missed playing in the color challenges at SCS the past weeks.  It just seems my Tuesdays don't allow me to stamp for fun all the time.   So, it's pretty late in the afternoon, but I had a chance to bring out some new SU stamps and my watercolor brush that I haven't used in a long time for today's colors, they are Basic Grey, Rose Red and Daffodil Delight.

I fell in love with this set from the first time I saw it, the clean lines of these flowers are just so pretty.  The set is called Every Moment, and actually everything on here is SU.  I used the Big Shot and scalloped circles Bigz die to cut out the watercolor paper and then stamped two flowers on it, stamping a 3rd flower on more watercolor paper so that I could cut it out and pop it up.  I also sponged the scallop after coloring to give it that gray haze.

I rounded the bottom corners and also added scallops with my corner rounder to the grey strip on the right to pair with the scallops on the main image.  I used the new Elegant Lines Textured Impressions folder as well.

Here's another picture of the coloring on the flowers too....

The quote reads, "When we see with our hearts, every moment is the most wonderful gift in the world".

    Thanks for stopping by today!

    Merry Christmas with Critters

I am realizing that I better get going with some Christmas cards .... I'm not typically a mass producer with my cards I send at Christmas....so it's one at a time for me, and time is ticking!

I just got an order of SU in last night and it was fun to look at my new sets and pull this one out today for the SCS Sketch Challenge.

I took this in bright (probably too bright) sunlight....but you can really see the white pop :)!    It's called Merry Crittermas from SU and I've colored it with copics.  Aren't these little raccoons cute?

I used paper from last years Christmas line Ski Slope, as well as the felt snow flurries from last year and this years new snowflake embossing folder (really pretty!).

What I hope you can see above is the touches of glitter I added with my Spica pens over top of the copic coloring it adds a nice touch of subtle sparkle.  And by shadowing with BG0000 around the Critters, tree and snow it gives the feeling of them being grounded, and standing on the snow on the ground.

So what about you?  When do you start your Christmas cards, and how many do you make?

Recipe:  Stamps:  SU - Merry Crittermas;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Flourishes Classic White Cardstock, Ski Slope DSP;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, RHR Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Punch, Dimensionals, Piercer, Felt Flurries, Copic Markers (BG72, BG75, BG78;  R14, R27,  W3, W7, E25, E27, E29, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG91, Spica Glitter Pens)

    Exactly the Way You Are...

Sleepless night here, our youngest has strep/tonsillitis again.  This is his second bout in less than 2 months, and last night was one of those horrible nights where he's in so much pain and can't sleep, and his fever is so high...so we bring him into bed with us.  Not much shut-eye had by any :(  Thankfully it's our day off and my husband is home too.

But, gratefully he could be seen right away this morning and when he can keep the medicine down he's at least not moaning!   I think with each kid there's some illness that just gets the better of them and this is it for him.  I hate seeing my babies sick, when you can't take away the pain.

So, we've had lots of cuddle time and naps on the couch for him and juice pops, tomorrow should be better.

While he was napping I did a little stamping, I kept it pretty simple because I had limited time.   I used both the color challenge colors at SCS (Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Concord and Peach Parfait) and this week's Mojo Sketch, using Verve's One Person set.

I decided to do some simple watercoloring using my ink pad lids today, but I'll be honest, I'm a little frustrated with the ink pads in the new In Colors, if you look you can see they really separate out - the Concord really goes blue and a bright purple rather than staying the deeper purple.    But, given the day...I just kept going.   The colors are actually a little deeper than the photo is showing.

I used the panels on top to ink some of the flowers or leaves and then added the little tag on the bottom.  I really love this sentiment * I love you exactly the way you are *.  All it takes is for your kids to be sick to slow you down and make you want to reassure them that no matter what -  you'll be there for them.  And being loved for who you are is sure a precious thing isn't it?

Recipe:  Stamps:  Verve - One Person;  Ink:  Stazon, Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait;  Paper:  Greenhouse Gala, Flourishes European Watercolor Paper, Big Shot, Deckled Ovals, Large Scalloped Ovals Nesties, Tag, Celery Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Pearls.

    Blackberries

Full day today, we're back at work and the fall is one of the busiest times of the year for us, today we had all day staff planning meetings.  So, my sweet mom had the kids today, and then had us for supper tonight, she went all out with roast chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cabbage rolls, corn....it was absolutely delicious.  She's such a good cook, and it was so nice of her.

So, I'm pooped tonight from all the brain work today.   But, on vacation I did take a number of images to color, and my copics, so this one was one of the many I colored.  I love these amazing raspberries from the Berry Sweet set by Flourishes, but depending on the way you color them, they could be blackberries don't you think?  We love blackberries too, we saw some in the Farmer's Market in the mountains on vacation that were HUGE.  Today's SCS Sketch was perfect for an image like this.

This is the new Concord Crush color from SU, and Old Olive, I sponged the edges of the Nestie shape with Concord Crush too, and then used two rows of the Victorian Borderabilities die for the bottom rows, feeding the silk ribbon through, and then accenting as per the sketch with this pretty crochet prima flower.

The purple is even more rich and has even more depth than this photo shows.

Please stop by on Friday morning, I have something extra special to share!

    Have a great evening!

    The Sky is the Limit

I'm trying to get back into a little stamping, but boy my brain does not feel connected to my body yet.  I have to putter and putter to make things work, and I never was a speedy stamper as it was.  In Mexico City they really don't have many traffic lights, but they do have a lot of large speed bumps to control traffic and speed.  Let's just say, I felt like I was hitting a lot of those speed bumps today.

To throw the creativity into gear, I tried my hand at the Color challenge today at SCS, it is Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Blushing Bride, and I thought I'd also try the Mojo Sketch for this week.   Right before we left on the Mission Trip, I got a lovely little box of PTI goodies, and some SU goodies and I thought I'd use some of them today.

Stamped this cute little plane from the Fly Away mini set onto watercolor paper and used my ink pads squished into the lid to watercolor the image.  I think I would get a deeper Cherry color if I used the reinker bottles but I don't have them yet.  I also used the clouds from Up, Up and Away on the Blushing Bride layer.

The close up is a bit truer to the colors, I'm still figuring out my new Mac editing software.  Otherwise it's all sketch and simplicity, some dotted embossing folder, a little pretty ribbon, a sentiment flag and there you have it.

    Thanks for coming by today!

    Going Places

So forever ago, I mean seriously forever it seems I got this MFT set and all this time later I still hadn't inked it up yet.  Yikes!  So when I saw the sketch challenge today at SCS I was like man, I need to ink it up.  I chose this cool paper by Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend and colored up the images with Copic Markers.

This will be for our daughter.  Awards Ceremony will be at school tomorrow night and I know she'll be getting at least one award.  I'm super proud of her, and we really see her as a girl who is going places.  It's a quick post tonight as our family is going in all different directions, I'm taking the boys to Ball Hockey, and we've got to get going!

    I did take a pic of the copics I used because there were a ton, but the pic didn't work.  So, I'll try to list them.  (R27, R29, R39, R46, YR04, YR07, YR09, Y17, Y19, Y35, Y38, BG72, BG75, BG28, E00, E11, E31, C2, Colorless Blender, Black.

    Pure Poppy Summer

I used to play every week in the color challenge at SCS, just because I love the thrill of combining colors together, but a while ago we switched our day off to Tuesday, and though I love stamping, it's so nice to spend the day with my husband while the kids are at school, so I usually do :)  But, I had some time late this afternoon for some stamping and I really loved Betty's colors this week, Mellow Moss, Real Red and Barely Banana.  Not hard colors on the eyes.

I immediately thought of how fabulous red poppies look, so I pulled out this Poppy Patch set from Flourishes, and also the background from the Thank You set.

I colored the poppies with Copic Markers (R14, R27, R29, G40, G82, YG93), then masked them, sponged some pretty Barely Banana overtop and then stamped the text from the Thank You set overtop.  I've used the Mojo Monday Sketch 143, and added the pretty Gingham ribbon from the Flourishe store too, as well as the Victorian cb folder.

So, the card was all done, and then my camera died.  Small sense of panic....we came to figure out that the memory card just stopped working, so I used my husband's camera, but it takes the pics in such high resolution and I'm just not savvy on getting it to work quite right for me (thus the teeeeny tinnnny watermark!), so sorry about the odd angle.   Here's a better picture of the poppy.

The kids are stir crazy for summer.  Our daughter starts her first final tomorrow.  She's been studying so hard these past couple of weeks.  And the boys just can't wait for the freedom of summer.  Of course they'll probably be bored within the first day, but we all dream of summer right????

    Thanks for dropping by!

    The Red Lighthouse

Tonight when I saw the Challenge Colors for the SCS Color Challenge I remembered that I made an extra card for the most recent release at Flourishes that I absolutely LOVE, but I hadn't posted yet.  And Mr. OKKEN, HUSBAND OF MINE....don't read any further as this will be your Father's Day card and I don't want you to spoil the surprise....ok....just to make sure I'll leave a little space :)

Betty's colors are Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Kraft, and here's what I created.

I watercolored this gorgeous lighthouse scene from A Guiding Light with reinkers and markers and cut out with the Long Deckled Nestabilities.  The paper was actually my total inspiration.  It's from Webster's Pages - the Triple Pack Collection , isn't it perfect?

I kept the details simple, a little piercing, a little punch edgework, and some frayed ribbon along with the criss-cross along the brads detailing, tied with some linen thread.

Just YUMMY I think!    Thanks for stopping by again today!

    Song of Spring Flip

A bit of a late post for me today.  It was the first day in probably a month where I didn't HAVE to do something in the day.  And my sweet husband got the kids ready for school and let me sleep in!  I've got a cold that's getting to me, so the sleep was so welcome.

Holly had a cool technique challenge over at SCS that I've seen by hadn't tried yet, so I played around with it.  It's called a Flip Card and the tutorial by Beate is HERE.  The center panel is loose so it flips around from open to closed.  Very fun.  And not that hard to do, if you follow the directions :)  Next time I'll know what I'm doing better so my cuts will be a little sharper.  I'll show you a progression of photos from closed to open.

I used the SU set Spring Song and colored it with Copic Markers.  The outside flower is carefully cut out and popped up.

Above is a little more open so you can see the inner panel better.

Here is the inner panel flipped in the open side.  Lots of sponging to warm up the scene.

Above a closeup of the coloring. Isnt' that hummingbird pretty?

And above what it would look like closed - laying down.  Neat hey?  It makes for such pretty presentation!

Below are the Copics I used.  All from Flourishes.

Recipe:  Stamps:  SU - Spring Song;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Kiwi Kiss, Bermuda Bay, Thoroughly Modern DSP, Gina K Pure Luxury White;  Accessories;  Oval Punch, Copic Markers, Dimensionals, Large Brads, Bermuda Bay Ribbon.

    Up to My Eyeballs!

Wow!  I've been up to my eyeballs in work the past 2 weeks.  And while I love what we do, it's left me very weary when it's day and night like that.  So, you can tell from my intermittant posting that it's been crazy here.  And then when you're that tired, sometimes your creative juices disappear, at least that happens with me.  I really wrestled with this card, and I'm still not sure about it.

Colors today at the SCS Color Challenge are Barely Banana, Old Olive and Ballet Blue.

I thought this beautiful waterlily flower would really work with the yellow, the lilypads in olive, and the *water* in Ballet Blue.  I did an off-set shape with the designer paper inside the Labels 10 shape which I thought would work with the off-center lily.

Copic colors used: Flourishes Daffodil and a little Buttercup Collections , and Evergreen Collection on the Lily pads.

Ok, time to get supper going.  Thanks for stopping by and your patience during this busy time!
