Hello Hearts Abloom

Hello to you out there too :)  I’m here for some Power Poppy fun on Friday with this beautiful digital image Marcy illustrated called Heart Abloom .  I just love how the beautiful early spring flowers are arranged in the heart shape, over-laying the beautiful banner.  I coloured the image with Copics and Prismacolor pencils for a really nice sense of colour and definition.  It’s full of daffodlis, narcissis, lenten roses, trout lilies, hellebore and ripening blueberries.  A dreamy arrangment.

That pop of blue from the ripening blueberries really informed the textured background paper, but to tie it in to the greens in the image, I used a stencil and Distress Oxide Ink and a blending brush to add it to the paper.  The Distress Oxide ink is perfect for the cardstock because it sits on top of the paper instead of soaking in and you get that beautiful chalky colour.

Hoping your day is as vibrant and joyful, and full of promise as this bundle of blooms!

Barbara also has a beauty to show you today so be sure to pop on over!
