Birthday Poppies

September has arrived, and our family is going in a lot of new and different directions.  Our daughter accepted a new teaching position at another school teaching a 4/5 split class and Spanish as a second language.  We’ve been working hard to help her get all of her classroom shopping and set up done to set up before school started this week.  Last year she started as a co-teacher so this was the first time for her to have to buy everything she wanted in her own classroom.  It was fun to help her.  Our middle son started second year University and is working and is going to volunteer as a youth leader. Lots on his plate!  Our youngest son started grade 11 and jumped back in this week too.  We’re grateful for good starts and we’re waving hello and goodbye to each other on the fly!  Ministry is very full for us right now as well as we kick off a new season, but I’m also trying to slow down for a few quiet moments whenever possible and sneak into my hammock in the backyard to soak in the beauty around me.

I’ve had orange on my heart, so today I’m bringing you another watercolor design using Power Poppy’s amazing Ultimate Poppy Digital Stamp Set.  I printed it onto Arches watercolor paper and used Daniel Smith Ultra Fine Watercolors.  It’s a beautiful image for watercolouring because you’ve got some great room to add lots of colour and washes.  A simple design with some designer paper pennants accenting the colours in the painting.  The pretty sentiment is from the polymer set,  Strong and Beautiful.

Some purple paint splatters and a cascading Baker’s Twine bow finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by friends.  I hope you’re September has allowed you to take some quiet moments for yourself and find joy in what is around you.

Hop on over and visit:

Gasp! These colors speak to me and you are a master at every medium. Life sounds very busy for you, Christine. I'm glad you are able to make time for yourself, too.
