Riding Hat and Giveaway Week Continues!

Let's start with the Winner of The Project 365 - Hero Arts Stamp Set...

The answer to the question was....rainbow colours ROYGBIV :)   I was sneaky and started with green, but I had pictures of all the colours in there.

and the winner is:  Joan V who said...
Theme: Life is a rainbow of color.
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Hope the school year goes great for your family.
Joan - Congratulations!  You have 48 hours to contact me with your mailing address, see my profile link for my email!
Today's project is a gift I made for our daughter's friend for her BD.  She had an awesome party the other night.  Our daughter and this friend are in Symphonic Band together and last spring the band trip went to Whister, BC for a huge competition/festival.  The girls found a really cool hat store in the village that they went to twice.  This friend LOVES hats :)  So, as I was thinking about her birthday coming I thought I'd create a Riding Hat for her.

This is where having a new Silhouette Cameo is awesome.  I've had so much fun experimenting with it.  I picked out a 3.5 inch circle box from the store, then paired that with my Grand Nestabilities Circles dies for the hat bottom.  I love how it turned out!

I made a little 3 x 3 card using Flourishes Feminine Charm set, because the hat from the set worked perfectly.  I coloured with Copic Markers in the Sunflower Collection, Creamy Collection, and Flesh Tones II Collection.  I accented the hat and card with some pretty ribbons, and leaf trinket pins, as well as some Prima faceted Crystals.

Here is the back of the hat with the ribbons trailing down.

I had some cute sunflowers in my stash and I thought they'd go perfectly.

Inside you can see the "lid" of the box attached to the hat brim and the top part of the box goes into the brim.  It turned out so well!  I wish I could have seen her face when she opened it.

Giveaway #3

Now for the fun part for you...another Giveaway!

I have 4 Flourishes sets to give away today, one of which is the very set I used in the card above....

(Feminine Charm)

(A Season of Thanks) one of my favourite fall sets!

These are all Designer proofs, so -  no packaging, but they stamp beautifully :)

HERES the RULES:

Leave a comment here with your favourite FALL item to make, it can be a recipe (I'd love to see the recipe too if you can!), a type of paper-crafting project, anything your heart desires.

One entry per person please.

I'll draw the name Thursday at 10:00 PM.  You'll have 48 hours to send me your snail mail address.

Gorgeous box! Love those sunflowers. In the fall I love to make apple crisp. I actually don't use a recipe anymore, just peel and slice the apples, mix with sugar and cinnamon. Then I mix equal parts flour, brown sugar and oatmeal with some butter until crumbly. Oh yes, I usually put in a pinch of salt and some cinnamon, too. Then I crumble it over the apples and bake until bubbly. So good when eaten warm with a little ice cream.

What a fantastic hat box!! It's so amazing how you can personalize things like that for a person. I love that. My favourite fall thing to make is Pumpkin Desert. It's pumpkin, eggs, pumpkin pie spice and condensed milk with a white cake mix spread on top. You put the cake mix on dry (not mixed up) and drizzle it with margarine and it makes this great crust on top. Quick and easy but delicious!

Oh My! This is a gorgeous hat and the card is awesome! You always do such gorgeous work! Fall happens to be my favorite time of the year, so anything with those gorgeous colors...and I'm there! I love making fall themed cards. The only problem is...after I make them, it's hard for me to let them go to someone's house! I usually wait until the next year to send them, so I can enjoy them a little longer. (weird, I know). I also love to make fall decorations to hang on my front door., This year, it will be a new wreath. Love sunflowers, fall leaves and little pine cones! :-)

The first thing I thought of when you said favourite Fall item to make was zucchini muffins and chocolate zucchini cake and now I can't stop thinking about them;) yummy. I'll see if I can dig up the recipes. Now I just need to find some zucchini -haha.
Again - thank you for you generousity Christine.

My favorite fall things to make are fall crafts with my kids. They love to collect the beautiful colored leaves and berries around our neighborhood, and it's fun to use them in fun crafts.

what a beautiful box and card your daughters friend is so lucky you are so creative. These stamp sets are all amazing and would love to give them a home- thanks for the chance. Even though it is Spring here I will share an autumn recipe that I love to make when the weather starts to turn and it always reminds me of my childhood with all the family sharing around the table - we actually have this at any time of the year but it's great for those cooler nights before you really need your comfort foods like steamed puddings etc.-It's also a great way to use up leftover bread before it goes mouldy. My mum used to make this all the time and everyone always wanted more - Queen Pudding-Ingredients- 3 or 4 slices bread finely crumbed, 2 eggs, 1 pint milk, 1 dessert spoon sugar, a few drops vanilla, some jam- nothing real sweet- I usually use raspberry or plum, coconut.-Method- grease a pie dish by wiping it out with butter(I actually use a large souffle dish) add breadcrumbs. Separate whites from yolks of eggs and place whites in a bowl to beat later and beat yolks and sugar together, add milk and vanilla. Pour over breadcrumbs and let stand for a few minutes. They say to stand the dish in a bath of water to bake but I never do and it works ok my mum never did either. Bake in a moderate oven around 180 degrees Celsius /350 Fahrenheit for about 20 - 30 minutes(I usually look and see if it looks set on the top).Remove from oven and gently spread with jam and then top with your beaten egg whites- (don't beat these too early or they go flat again I start about 5 minutes before the bread mix is cooked.) Sprinkle this with coconut and return to the oven to brown- watch because they turn brown really quickly sometimes. remove from oven and enjoy add cream if desired.

Love this adorable hat box and the card is so fabulous. My favorite fall thing is to make packaged sugar cookies and then declare a family decorating night. Sometimes we give them to bake sales, sometimes, neighbors, but there is always some to eat and my son just loves this.

Lovely hat box and card Christine,
Guaranteed to be a big hit for the "hat lover". For many years, my favorite fall project was creating Halloween costumes for my two daughters. Now my fall days are consumed by birthday and holiday card-making, lol.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! GORGEOUS CREATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

My FAVORITE thing to make in the fall? That would have to be a PEPPER JELLY RECIPE that was given to me by a lady in a church I worked in after college YEARS AGO! Here it is:
PEPPER JELLY
1/2 c. Jalopeno Peppers (hot)
1 c. Bell or Banana Peppers (sweet)
It's good to have a mix of colors--for eye appeal.
6 c. sugar
1 bottle Certo Fruit Pectin-1 pkt. is one bottle.
1 1/2 c. Cider Vinegar.

Seed peppers. Wear gloves when doing the Jalopeno Peppers. Grind the Peppers & 1/2 c. vinegar with a food processor. Let set overnight.
Add the rest of the vinegar ( 1 c.) & the certo & add everything else--bring to boil & boil 1 minute.
Have your jelly jars & lids ready to go- sterilized.
When jars are filled-- place back in water bath & boil for 15 minutes.(Water should cover the caps about 1 inch.)
Process takes about 35-40 min's.
Makes 11- 1/2 pints.

I LOOOOVE to have this on Triscuit crackers with a dab of cream cheese & a dab of this pepper jelly on top! This is the way I had it for the first time. WOW! Makes a nice little orderve! But, this can also be used on meat. It's SOOOOO GOOOD! :) ENJOY! :)

What a fun hat and card to make for your daughter's friend birthday. You are so creative.

My favorite thing to make each fall are napkin rings, name plates and little embellishments for my Thanksgiving dinner. Now with so many fun dies out on the market, this task is now easier. Thanks for sharing.
