An Invitation to Happily Ever After :)

A doubly-lovely post for you today!  We're wrapping up our June Releases with a great set for those lovely occasions of love, marriage, showers....all kinds of events you might want to celebrate....and I'll also show you a new Invite PDF Download now available from Flourishes for $2.  It's blank for you to fill in and embellish for all the special times you want to include others in....baby shower, book club invite, birthday party, wedding shower....anything your heart desires!

First, Happily Ever After...

I had a really fun time doing something very different with the Blossoms Collection sets put together with Happily Ever After.  Remember the movie "The Princess Bride"?  Remember the chaplain preaching "wuv...twue wuv"....

The letters are from the Letters in Blossom set....and then I added the "True Love" sentiment from the Happily Ever After on the main image, coloring up the letters in black and adding color with Copics.  Then on the background layer, I took a cue from Ally Cope and stamped the Summer Blossoms images on white Flourishes Cardstock and then colored all the background in black.  I love how it turned out.  

This is how it looked before assembling.  As you can see I left a little bit in the center uncolored because I knew the main image would cover it.  Isn't that dramatic looking?  It does take time, but boy is it worth it!

I used this month's SFYTT from Jen Del Muro.  And embossed the Spellbinder's hearts as well as the black horizontal flag too - with Art Nouveau - Fireflies folder.

How about a little Garden Party at my place? :)  

I've combined this lovely invitation with the Sunflower set I love so much.  I've stamped and colored the image seperately (with Prismacolors) and then popped it up on the design combining it with the

June Kit of the Month as well - Sunkissed.  

I've edged the invitation out with Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.

An Invitation to Happily Ever After :)

Simply Inviting

Our daughter's birthday is tomorrow and this past weekend we worked on her invitations for a party with her friends next weekend.  It was fun to design together.  She liked the idea of an embossing folder, we picked the colors together and planned out the layout, and then I put her to work!  She really did all the parts to the card.  So...this is really her craftsmanship here :)

We wanted a clean and simple design that could easily be done for a number of girls.  She did all the stamping and cutting out of the flowers, popping them up on the embossed layer and adding a simply sentiment.  I think they turned out really sweet!

So...sweet and simple for today!  Back tomorrow with something I made for her Birthday!

Simply Inviting

Summer Fun Party

Well, last week we had a birthday party for our youngest son (six years old). It was the second-to-last day of school here, so I thought we'd go with a fun summer theme.

These were the invites:

Really simple but still fun. His favourite color is yellow, so we always have to incorporate it somewhere, but it's easy with a summery feeling invite. I think Just Beachy and the matching wheel is such a cute fun combo. Everything here is super simple. The sun and bucket are colored with SW Markers. The sand bucket is cut out and popped up.

And here's what we did for treat bags (or buckets in this case).

We found fun sand pails with shovels attached at the Dollar Store, and then added fun summer treats and activities inside.

I used the Top Note rolled with the wheel and the large oval punch for the labels (words run through the printer). Then just added a cute tag on for each child's name.

OY VEY were these kids energetic! I know they were beside themselves to be together, whew I was pooped when it was all over!

Summer Fun Party

Swimmin! Invites

Our middle son will celebrate his 10th Birthday next week, so I had to finish the party invites so he can take them to school today. It's going to be a swimming party so I thought Just Beachy would be the perfect set.

These are really simple, but fun cards. I just do card fronts for party invites. These were night photos so they don't show the color as well as I'd like.

I rolled the Lazy Days wheel with VersaMark on the Kraft layer and then stamped off and then stamped the PARTY word (from Calendar Cues) in Ruby Red. The wheel is also rolled on the Ruby Red layer.

I wanted to give the feel of a porthole into the ocean so I cut out the ovals with my Big Shot, then cut a large circle punch hole in the middle. (Then I used that circle for the tucked in sentiment). I popped up one fish, stamped one to look like he's in the distance, and tied it with hemp. Just a couple more circles added as accents. Very mail-able too, which some will have to be.

He thinks they're great - but I know he's just excited about the party!
