Limited Palette Valentine Notes and a Winner!

I love pulling out ALL the colours when I colour.  For me it’s fun to add lots of tones and shading, but then there are times when you need to get a project done a little more simply.  I wanted to do some sweet and simple Valentine notecards for my kids and some friends, so I printed out 6 little scenes from Power Poppy’s Va Va Valentine’s set and decided to work with a limited palette of red, orange and gray/black.  That way the colouring didn’t involve a lot of extra choice and would go quickly.  Once I got to a couple of the images with leaves, I did have to add a bit of green to the mix.

Once they were finished it gave such a nice cohesive look to the designs.  I used some dies to cut out the images to keep it very simple.

Next up, little patterned paper note cards...

Each is 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” of cuteness.

I went through my stash of red/Valentine themed papers and pulled out any I thought would pair well.

Super simple and I think they turned out lovely.

So, if you’re in the need for some quick Valentine designs, try a limited palette and see how quickly it all comes together!

NOW....for the WINNER of last week’s Watercolour Wreath design!  Random.org picked #1....LeAnne!  LeAnne, I’ll pop you a note :)

These are super cute, Christine!! And great tip to limit your color pallets!! This set has always looked a little intimidating to me but I will try the idea out on another set hopefully.
