Snowdrops and Roses

Hello out there.  Some of you may know that we’ve faced a lot of personal losses last year, with all four of our parents passing away within 12 months.  Most recently my Dad who we had moved in to care for, passed away in December.  We’re working through grief a step at a time.   We’ve also spent a lot of of time going back and forth between my parent’s place, where we were living, and our home where we’re now back.  This explains a bit of my absence from cardmaking this December, and how little I’ve visited any blogs too.

In the midst of the moves between houses, I found a bunch of images I had already coloured but had not put into cards, so today’s image from Power Poppy’s lovely Snowdrops and Tea Roses was one of the coloured images that I found, and it’s just too pretty not to share, so I put it together yesterday to show you.

The colouring is done with both Copic Markers and Prismacolour Pencils in the background and shadows of the image.

For some interest in the background I stenciled some circles (to play off the berries), with an amethyst ink, added a vellum layer, sparkly white ribbon and some white mirrored sequins.

The sentiment is from the Power Poppy’s Let Your Heart Be Light .

You’ll see some beautiful creations with the Bloomies ahead.

Oh, precious Christine, I somehow didn't know your dad also passed away. My heart aches for you having lost all four parents within 12 months. Yes, working through grief is a hard thing that takes time and is so hard on your heart as you spend time dealing with the affairs of parents' place. I continue to pray for you and know that our loving and caring Father is always with you and will give you the strength to endure. Your card is absolutely amazing, and I always draw closer to my laptop screen to examine the beautiful details of your coloring. I love the soft colors of the roses, and the berries look absolutely real. What a special gift God has given you, and I know it is relaxing to you. Blessings and love, dear friend and sister! xoxo

Absolutely stunning, Christine! I need to catch my breath... I know it's been a very difficult year for you with the losses you've suffered. My heart is with you as you continue to adjust.

Oh Christine so sorry to hear that you have recently lost your Father too, I can't imagine the roller coaster this year must have felt like. May God bring strength for the days ahead and peace as you deal with all of this.
Your card is absolutely lovely, colored so beautifully, how nice to have had the coloring done so all you had to do was put it together!
