Spring has Sprung Release Challenge

We're at another month's challenge at Flourishes!  Next week brings us the wonderful April New Release Sneak Peeks!  And I'm so excited to begin showing them to you!

So here is the challenge this month  "Let's see some signs of spring in your creations for this challenge! Use a little robin's egg blue, some green grass with a dash of daffodil. Use this color combo and you'll be in the running to win the entire April new release bundle!"

Now, I went very literal and Easter with this challenge and the photo...take a look

How about a little basket for Easter, with some freshly bloomed Daffodils, grass and robin's egg blue Easter eggs? :)

I put together this little Easter Basket based on a wonderful tutorial by Mary Jo Albright.  It doesn't appear she's blogging anymore which is sad because she's such a talent!... but this is the link to the basket tutorial.   It does take some time to put together, but the end result is so worth it!  I love the sweetness of it!    I have lots of pictures of the different sides....
Front side above, where I've tucked the beautiful daffodil from the Signs of Spring set,  as well as the little tag stamped with the sentiment and the little chicks.

Along the top you can see I created a handle out of the Spellbinders Die Easer Borderabilities Petite.  I ran it through the machine twice, both in the blue and in the daffodil yellow and then just added the yellow pieces into the die strip for some extra color.    You can also see the strips of grass I cut with my scissors on the right and left sides of the basket.

I also created my own basket filler by embossing some paper with the Square Lattice die and then cutting it in tiny thin strips with my guillotine cutter, you need something nice and sharp to cut this thin.

And then a little closeup of the daffodil colored with Copic Markers.  As well you can just see the butterflies I added from the handle cut from the die on the right.

Join us in the challenge and you could win the entire April Release!  Link up to the Flourishes Blog - and when you add to online galleries use the keyword FLLCAPR11. Deadline to enter is April 15th at 5 PM Eastern.

Now head on over to my Flourishes DT Sisters and see what Spring beauty they've brought you today!
