Zesty Cards for TCP May!

Lemon Branch Birthday Card
Oh I’m just overflowing with joy to bring you the new cards for TCP’s May Release!  Seriously, there are SO many fun new digital sets that are so fun and full of delight, I’m going to have a hard time limiting myself this month!  Today, I have two fun designs for you that are both colourful and punny!

We’ll kick it off with these wonderful lemons called Cute Citrus or Not.  What I love about this one is that it has cute kawaii style images with cute little faces - or you can go the route I went and use the fruit without the faces.  So, the lemon branch with blossoms is what I chose to work with.  I LOVE fruit images!  It has lots of vibrant lemony Copic colouring with some added pointillims dots to give you the texture of the fruit.

After colouring, I trimmed the image out and placed it on a watercolour panel that I painted a pretty teal and green watercolour background.  it really makes the lemons pop!

Then its a few enamel dots and a punny sentiment from another new set called Citrusly that is HILARIOUS in it’s punny sentiments.

Next it’s a little more earthy...with these cuties called So Mushroom

For this mini-slimline design I printed the mushrooms stacked behind each other in a row so that I could  colour them with Copics and trim the out.  I placed the trio on a gold foiled woodgrain background to capture that cozy forest floor feeling.

I added a retired TCP die grass border to anchor the image and really give you the feeling of dimension between the mushrooms.  The sentiment is a cute one for a husband, son or guy friend, and a woodgrain arrow accent accents it just right.

Thanks for popping by, and I hope you had as much fun as I did checking out these new stamps!  Here’s a peek at the new sets below.

No Coffee...

We’re back with a new challenge for the next 2 weeks at The Cat’s Pajamas!  This week we’ve got a fun challenge called “A Little Bit Sassy”.  TCP has some fun sets and sentiments that would fit perfectly for this theme.  This week I pulled out TCP’s set This Could Be Vodka.  I stamped the cutie patootie cat in his cup, including the added little cup accents with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic XPress it Blending cardstok and aftern colouring with Copics, I cut him out.

For fun I added the notebook border with TCP’s CutUps die Toppers CutUps, and then placed my kitty cat onto circle using the Framed Up 2 CutUps die.  The sentiment is perfect for all coffee lovers and our sassy theme.

A few little touches of white sharpie accent his markings and a bit of twine and buttons finish it off.  The layout is this week’s Mojo Monday layout.

Here are the Copics I used to colour it up below.

So jump on in with us in the challenge....you could win some TCP Cat’s Cash to use in the store!

Here’s some more inspiration from The Cat Pack....

When Pigs Fly

How about something just for fun?  I had this idea pop into my head when I was thinking about this cute set from MFT - The Whole Herd, so I thought I’d try to put it to paper for their Card Superstar Contest going on.  It’s cute and punny all put together :)  I stamped my flying pigs onto XPress It Blending cardstock in lots of “flying” positions and then added the curved sentiment with MFT’s Banner Day Alphabet.  I love how they look so surprised to be up in the air, like ‘whoa, I wasn’t expecting that!’

All framed out with Stitched Dies and some pretty polka-dot paper.

I kept the design really clean and simple with a simple banner, button and twine to accent.

Here’s the Copics I used.

See ya back here tomorrow for something lovely!

The Boss of Me

Hi and welcome to another TCP Tuesday with The Cat’s Pajamas!  We’re ushering in a new challenge this week and it means there’s no limit to seeing your creativity :)  It’s Anything Goes!

I had fun pulling out one of the new sets from this past release You Got This!

I think this is the cutest set.  You all know I’m a big fan of ‘da bunny, and seeing him trying to bench-press is pretty cute, especially with that little bossy bird there.

Knowing I wanted that touch of yellow in the birdie, I chose a black/white and yellow palette for some fun.  I popped up the weights once and then popped up the birdie twice, accenting with some fun patterns, the embossed dots, and some bakers twine and a button.   I love the little speech bubble done with the Talk to Me CutUps.

Here you can see the dimension a little better, and below are the Copics I used.

Take a peek at what the Cat Pack has to show off with Anything Goes, and then jump on in with us on the Challenge!  More details on how to play at the TCP Blog.
