Cuddle in the Cabin

Today we’ve got the most warm and cozy stamp set for you from Power Poppy’s Quiet Christmas Release!  It’s called Cuddle in the Cabin and oh, you’re going to love it!

My husband and I sometimes dream about places we’d like to go or places we’d like to live.  It’s a sweet little pass-time when we’re stuck under the circumstances we’re in.  We often say “beach or mountains?”, and though I love the warmth and sunlight of a beach, I’m a mountain girl at heart.  I haven’t been a lot of places in the world, but of the places I’ve been, nothing can top a place like Canmore, AB.  So, this cozy cabin speaks to my mountain-loving self.  I can see myself snuggled up by the fire in that cabin, watching the snow cascade down.

I really enjoyed colouring this scene with Copics, with the deep night sky, the bright moon and front porch light illuminating the crisp snow of the scene.  Adding all that colour to the snow doesn’t seem like it should work, but instead it gives the shadows depth and the reflections light - and still makes the white of the snow pop.

Starry skies are created with a white gel pen and shimmery paper borders the scene.  There are also touches of shimmery pen in the snow, but it is difficult to photograph.

The woodgrain background is created with a stencil and Distress ink to tie in with the wood on the cabin.  Isn’t that the most lovely quote as a sentiment too?

There are just so many beautiful elements to this set that can stand alone, or be combined to make beautiful winter and Christmas designs.  I can’t wait to explore more!  Be sure to check out Cuddle in the Cabin HERE!

Christine, this is so lovely! It's so peaceful and serene. I love that you've turned it into a log cabin and the way you've colored the snow to reflect the light is just beautiful!

I am a mountain girl, too! My husband is all beach...or a big lake. ;) I LOVE how you made it a log cabin! Beautifully colored!
