Its always SO hard to pick a favourite when we release new sets at Power Poppy. Because I love Marcy’s artistry so much - they’re all such fun to work with, but today’s set might be my favourite of this release. It’s called Floribunda and it is just amazing. I had SO much fun with it!
Here’s Marcy’s description of this beauty: "Be ready to knock somebody’s socks off (quite possibly your own) when you make a card using these stamps! Sized to fill an A2 card, the enchanted Floribunda border is composed of Fuchsia blooms, arching Lupine, Primroses, Morning Glory, a robust Dahlia, and trumpets of Honeysuckle. Use it vertically or horizontally, the sentiments all fit inside. A little hummingbird ALSO fits inside, or use him with any of our other botanical stamp sets when you would like an avian visitor. The large format stamp set is 6" x 8”."
I really wanted to do something extra special with all this gorgeous-floral-goodness and the zippy little hummingbird. We don’t get a lot of hummingbirds in the big city - but when I’ve seen them in other places I am always in awe of how they flit from one thing to another with those amazing wings, and yet, how they look suspended in air. I love how this stamp captures that slice of a second when their wings are still. So, to give that feeling of the hummingbird suspended in air, I chose a clear acetate card base. All the images are stamped in Memento Desert Sand for the no-line look and then coloured up with Copics. I trimmed the floral frame with the center open, and added it to the acetate so the middle is clear.
Because the colouring was quite busy, I decided to leave it without a sentiment. Inside the design so there is place to write if you’d like I added frames to both sides and stamped the image again in a really light green ink - Memento New Sprout, and then added a bit of baker’s twine along the spine of the card.
Here’s a peek at the inside of the card that still allows that stamped image to shine and also shows off the acetate card base.

This is breathtaking Christine, wow!
Gorgeous colouring and that hummingbird on the acetate makes him realy fly. Gorgeous little birds, unfortunately, where I live, the Netherlands, there are no hummingbirds,
Thank you so much for sharing this stunning card.
Stunning card, Christine...the vibrant colors are incredibly beautiful...like the acetate card for this design. tfs
A work of art!!!
What a bright and beautiful card, I love it!
How very interesting and beautiful, Christine! This set may have finally taken away my fear of coloring hummingbirds. What a creative design and gorgeous coloring!
Such beautiful details, thank you for sharing your beautiful work
Just stunning !
This is so gorgeous, Christine!! It made me get out another set drawn by Marcella way back that contained humming birds and try coloring it up! Maybe next time I will attempt the acetate as that does give the feeling if suspension mid air! Your colors are magnificent!! Thanks so much for sharing here!
