Ranunculus

What a Friday beauty we have to show off today!  It’s a brand new digi from Power Poppy that the Instant Gardeners introduced the other day, the very lovely Ranunculus.   Now we get to play with it...and it’s a beaut!  I just love Ranunculus and this showy arrangement of them really shines.

I printed the image onto XPress it Blending Card stock and made it quite large to be able to take center stage on the card design.  I die cut it with Simon Say’s stitched rectangle die and then coloured it up with Copics.  As you can see the lightsource in the colouring is top left and that really brings it all to life.

The papers are really beautiful (Echo Park), and that’s where I took my colour cues from.  I popped the image and the frame I created with the die, but then layed the background paper behind, almost like a floating frame.

Accented simple with some twine and an enamel dot, sometimes that’s all you need.

Here’s the inside of the design where I made use of the lovely sentiment and added a little colour to the word “peace”.

Here’s the Copics I used above.

And here’s the Power Poppy Team playing along today, I know they will wow you with Ranunculus

Gorgeous Christine, love how you colored, so beautifully and then framed it, cutting the Stitched panels leaving that space between the die cuts, this really takes advantage of this lovely paper. This is a great idea for big patterns like this one so it's not hidden behind your stamped image.
Thank you so much for sharing.

Beautiful, love the paper to go with your lovely coloring of the flowers, like the way you framed it!

Christine, this is gorgeous! Yes, I love your coloring and these really "shine" ... and I love how you've used the DP to guide your coloring, including the blue for the depth. Stunning layout with the recessed "frame" atop the DP. And I always love twine/cotton and love the enamel dot to hold it (great idea). Ah, yes, this is yet another real beauty from Marcy! Do we not just LOVE these? Hugs!

Gorgeous Christine! I love how you coloured the flowers based on the light source. The layout of your card is awesome, love how it is framed, and that bit of twine and enamel dot pulling it all together!

Love how you so effectively weighted the shadows lower left on this, Christine. Gorgeous coloring, as always, and the paper is not only pretty, but the perfect backdrop for your coloring.
