June is such a beautiful month! At least in my neck of the woods it's full of green, and blooming outdoor colors and textures. In just a few short days we'll be unveiling a new round of stamps at Flourishes inspired by the outdoors. We're really excited to show them to you. So today, we're challenging you to be inspired by the TEXTURES of nature!
I have a few outdoorsy textures on this card that I thought would work for a wedding card. I started with Flourishes Berry Sweet set stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic White cardstock. Then I cut it out with our Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Window Die, colouring with Copics and then sponging the inside of the die with Memento Summer Sky ink. I love the contrast between the rich blue on the berries and the soft blue of the background.
The textures begin with the three little branches tied together with ivory twine. I love the Bible verse that talks about how a cord of three strands is not easily broken. I think that works perfectly for a newly married couple. Then for the next texture I used our beautiful scalloped edge ribbon that looks just like rose petals. And finally the last texture is in the vine-like embossing folder in the background on the True Blue Cardstock layer.
Here's the Copics I used...
Now we'd like you to join us in the Challenge too!
HERE'S HOW TO PLAY: Create something with an outdoorsy texture in mind - or use an element from nature as part of your design. It could be the texture in an embossing folder that has woodgrain, leaves or vines, it could be a leaf rubbing behind your image, something glossy like rain or shiny like a berry. The interpretation is up to you! If you play along with us, you could win Flourishes entire June Stamp Release! You have until Friday June 14, 2013 at 5 PM EST to enter. Just be sure to enter your creation on the Flourishes Blog using our InLinkz Widgit. Enjoy exploring those nature textures!
