Hopeful Calla Lilies

You've probably seen the trend of grey and yellow together.  It's a powerful combination I think.  The grey grounds the yellow and the yellow adds such vibrance and hope.  Yellow happens to be our youngest son's favourite color, it totally describes his personality too. Anyway!  This is another sympathy card that you hate to have to make, and yet I really wanted this one to speak hope.

The beautiful set is Calla Lilies from Flourishes, the papers are My Mind's Eye - Dolled Up and it's all colored up with Copic Markers.

With a little Flourishes lace and pearls and some satin ribbon, it's a nice finish.  As you can see I added some of the same yellow from the callas to highlight the leaves, it ties the coloring in so much better as well.  And, on the base of the callas, there's a touch of rosy red to tie into the print in the floral paper too.  All those little details help to pull together a design.

Thanks for dropping by today!  Come back tomorrow as we kick-off the Flourishes May Pre-Release Challenge!  Woo Hoo!  Gorgeous stuff in store!

(Copic Markers - YG00, Y0000, Y11, Y21, Y23, Y26, W1, W2, W3, W5, W7, G40, G43, G46, R11, R14).

OMGosh Christing - what you've done to those beautiful calla lillies! Coloured so beautifully. Love the contrast of yellow & grey as well... just bought some lovely American Crafts sassafras "take a note" series... can't wait to chop into it! 8)
