Word CardMaking Day!

On this World Cardmaking Day (woo hoo!), Flourishes is joining SplitcoastStampers by giving folks 'Hope they can Cling to!' Whether the stamps you use cling to acrylic or wood, they hold the power to convey hope and lift the spirits of anyone who sees what you create with them. That is the inspiration for SCS's "Hope You Can Cling To" stamping campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
All this month, SCS is partnering with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. The campaign kicks off TODAY! You can read up on the card drive and all the challenges at Splitcoaststampers. To honor this heartfelt drive, Flourishes decided to offer up one heck of a challenge!

Here's the Challenge: Since women come in all shapes and sizes -- let's honor that! There are tall and skinny, round and shapely, even a little boxy. So, let's ditch the A-2 sized cards (4-1/4" by 5-1/2")and get creative. Anything goes! If you do that AND use ribbon, you'll get two entries! If you use a non-standard shape card, use ribbon and use the color pink, you'll have three chances to win! Let's see what you can create! When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword: FLLCWCMD10. You have until October 31st to enter and will have a shot at winning a goody bag which includes our Fight Like a Girl set supporting breast cancer survivors!

I've used this great set "Think Pink - Fight Like a Girl" from Flourishes for my card today.  I have to say, I think it is one of the most creative, uplifting Breast Cancer Awareness sets out there anywhere.  Do you see the breast cancer ribbon swirls hidden in the flamingo's feathers?  I've colored it up with Prismacolor pencils and OMS for blending.  The sketch is this week's Mojo Sketch, and added a breast cancer pink ribbon with a gem inside to accent it, as well as our new Mosaic tiles along the bottom.   My card is 4.25 x 4.25 square :)

I've used the great Lacey Squares Nestabilities, combined with Square Nesties and added 2 types of ribbon, this great  black and white gingham, and this pretty scalloped ribbon too.

Also Flourishes is hosting a World Card Making Day Sale – everything is 10% off. Just use the keyword WCMD10 in the coupon code box at checkout!
