Get in Shape Challenge

Image

We hope you've had a great summer Flourishes Fans!  Now as we see the days turn the corner into deep blue skies, colorful leaves and cooler nights we see that Autumn is nearing!  Many of us get back into "stamping shape" in the fall and this is the perfect challenge for you, turning your fingers to some paper crafting fun!  In just a few short days we'll be unveiling our beautiful September Release of FIVE sets, and playing in this challenge is your chance to win our whole September Release!

Want to know how? All you need to do is create a Shaped Card OR a 3D Item.  You can either create a card using any non-standard shape (we encourage you to think creatively),  or a lovely box, ornament, home decor item, or anything 3D....it's all up to you!  Your keyword for entering into online galleries is FLLCSEPT13.

I created both a shaped card and a 3D Christmas box to show off for you today...

I love when gifts and cards coordinate, so I decided to do a fancy shaped card and a cute little Christmas Tree box.

I'll start with the card:  I began with Flourishes' beautiful Christmas set Naturally Merry.  Isn't that pinecone illustrated beautifully by Marcy?  I cut out the Silhouette shape for the set in Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and then stamped the image in Memento Peanut Brittle Ink for the no-line look.  Then I pulled out a few of my Copic Collections to colour the image up.  Then I popped it up onto one of our Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Window dies cut from Classic Ivory cardstock as well.  The sentiment ink is Memento Olive Grove, which I also used on the background stamping on the Color Made Easy Evergreen layer.  The shape of the card is a Spellbinder's Grand Labels 4 die with the bottom tip cut off.  I thought it gave it a elegant Moroccan feel, especially with the window die in the middle.

A few finishing details, woodgrain embossing on the Classic Kraft layer, some Color Made Easy buttons, wooden buttons and twine to tie it all together.

Now for the box.  I knew a tree design would work perfectly for this set so I used a Silhouette cut file Scalloped Tree Box.  Cutting it out with our Flourishes Color Made Easy Evergreen card stock, stamping on the layers before assembling, adding some classy velvet ribbon and a small tag with our Tailor Made Classic Tags and the sentiment with our Tiny Flowers and Tags set.

So, now we invite you to join us in the Challenge!  We have five new sets we're releasing next week and you don't want to miss out on your chance to win them all!  See the Flourishes Blog for the official rules and dates.  And I'll look forward to stopping by to see what you've made.
Thanks for your visit today!  We’ll see you here on Monday September 9th when our FIVE wonderful September Sneak Peeks start! Enjoy getting back into stamping SHAPE!

And now for some wonderful shaped inspiration, our talented Design Team has pulled out all the stops to get your creativity jump-started:
