Up Up and Away

When we were on vacation in August I spent some time coloring in the evenings when we were watching a movie, or after the kids had gone to bed.  I think I had a bunch of markers out and saw this type of color combination together and liked it, so I picked this fun balloon image colored it up, but I didn't put it into a card for a while.  I knew I wanted to order the PTI clouds die for the card...and that cute die just came this week.

I'm especially proud of the coloring on this one...I just took my time and love how the depths came out in the balloons.  I also added a light touch of BG01 and BG0000 on the bottoms of the clouds to give them a little definition too.   Copic colors are W2, W3, W7, R14, R27, R29, and BG72, BG75 and BG78.  W2, W3 are really good matches with Sahara Sand paper.

Of all the new Spellbinders Die, I wasn't so sure about this Labels 14, and yet it's the one I really am enjoying the most!  I decided to trim the edges on this one to fit inside the patterned paper, and then added some piercing for definition.  Otherwise it's pretty clean.  I know that I need more masculine cards in my stash and this one will fit the bill. :)

I'm off to recover a bit...we took our High School students for a retreat this weekend in the mountains.  What a great time we had together!  But now I could use some sleep.....and tomorrow it's laundry!  That never ending chore!
