Minty Camellias

Power Poppy is kicking off a new challenge this month.  Hosted by Ally, it’s a challenge to Use Pastels....here’s what she has to say about it....

"With Spring slowly making away across the land, it reveals the beautiful of so many gorgeous blooms and buds: blooms of soft buttery yellows, light lavender purples and pastel rosy pinks. So for this month's challenge, I want to see you create with a soft, subtle color palette of PASTELS. Let's see those creamy oranges, delicate grassy greens and beautiful soft shades of color on your cards and creations."

On this beautiful Good Friday, I thought I’d take a soft and subtle approach to pastels, with our new Simply Camellias set.  I stamped the single bloom multiple times allowing some to be the background pennant flag, and one to be the popped up focal image.  Then I gave the pennant flag a pastel minty background and soft neutrals for the flower colour.  I paired them with these beautiful sheets from My Minds Eye - On Trend with the touches of mint and gold.  I love the subtle effect.

For accents I added the vellum pennant to soften the effect even more, gold sequins, gold cording and the gold embossed sentiment.  Perfect for a wedding or birthday - or an anyday card!

Here are the Copics I used.

  10. Elegance, pure elegance. Nothing like white and gold (not blue and black). I love your layout, the vellum and the sequins.
