November Challenge - Grab a Cup!

November brings crisp, cool days that might find you heading into your favourite coffee shop to grab a cup of warmth, and dwell in that inviting aroma that only a cozy cafe can bring.  I could smell a coffee shop all day - but I’m not a coffee drinker - I’ll leave that to my husband who loves it!

       
This month we’re inviting you to “Grab A Cup” with us on the Flourishes Senior Design Team and be inspired by this fantastic photo as you create something equally warm and inviting. Next week we’ll be bringing you our November edition of new Flourishes Stamps, and we can’t wait! They’re absolutely fabulous! Because we know you want a chance to win these great sets, “Grab A Cup” and be inspired by this great coffee and treats photo as you create. Play in the challenge and you could win our whole November Release! Your keyword for entering into online galleries is FLLCNOV13.

I absolutely love the richness to the inspiration photo and wanted to give this design a similar feel with deep colouring, woodgrain and warmth.  I began with Flourishes Winter Blossoms set that had been cut with the Silhouette cut file that goes with this set on Flourishes Classic White card stock.  Then I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with some beautiful shades of Copic Markers.  I know it’s not realistic to have teal blossoms and brown berries, but that’s where the inspiration photo led me!  I embossed a woodgrain pattern into the deep brown of the Rich Browns Color Made Easy Cardstock to match the woodgrain in the inspiration photo, inked some of the smaller blossoms from the set in Memento Teal Zeal ink on the Emerald Coast Fishtail banner and added some  texty designer paper from Echo Park - Reflections Christmas.  

Embellishments include some pretty sequins, some silver metallic string inspired by the silver spoon in the photo and some seambinding in rich brown and emerald coast collections from the store.

• Please DO NOT combine challenges from other sites or locations. Only those entries that don’t combine will be in the running. Because this challenge means winning new Flourishes sets we want to see your beautiful creations made specifically for this challenge.
