When winter hits, dreams of being in the garden begin with open sketch books, seed catalogs and garden journals - planning, plotting and envisioning sprouts and buds emerging from the soil. This set, illustrated by Marcella Hawley features three vivid vignettes honoring these garden dreams. Also features three beautifully scripted sentiments.
I love this little scene Marcy made! And I can also understanding dreaming of spring in the dead of winter, especially when I'm deep in the snow here in Canada. For the card I began by cutting the shape on Flourishes Classic Ivory with the Silhouette Cut file that will be available for this design, then stamping with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I coloured the image with my prismacolor markers because I was looking for a different feel to the design...more smudgy like prismas can give you. Then I framed out the design with our new Flourishes Custom Dies, this one is called Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals, using our Color Made Easy Sunflower Pack of paper. Then to make it even more fun, I cut another Victorian Oval with the same die in our Pistachio Collection of paper, and placed it behind the first oval at 90 degrees. The sentiment is also cut out with one of the dies from this set and stamped in Bamboo Leaves Memento Ink. The bottom of the design has a little Classic Scallops Edgeabilities finishing cuts for some curves. The designer paper is Bo Bunny Serenade, perfect tones for my garden scene.
A little closer pic of the design, though my OTT lamp washed it out a bit sorry! Did you notice the cute little Sunflower buttons???? NEW at Flourishes, in Collection Colors! So awesome, you can pick only the colors you want, and they're SO economical!
