Welcome to more of our month long Birthday Celebrations at Flourishes! Today the team is joining together to create fun challenges for you all day long...
2-4-6-8... Help Flourishes Celebrate! That's what today is all about and if you missed our 2PM Challenge, just click HERE to catch up! Since Flourishes is turning 5, we decided to throw a little party full of challenges and chances to win Flourishes goodies! Are you ready for the 4PM Challenge?
This Challenge is all about COLOR!
I pulled together the orange, green and blues from the Inspiration photo to create this country-quilt sort-of scene with Flourishes set On the Porch. I went to town creating the folded circles behind the main image with MME's-Indie Chic paper. The vertical strips are embossed with an Art Noveau Folder to highlight them off of the patterned paper.
I colored up the image using Copic Markers (see below for collections), and then added some pointillism for the background, shabbying it up with some Ranger Distress ink in Antique Linen with my Ink Blending Tool. Then some Kaiser pearls accent the design. The card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 in size.
Here's how I rolled the circular background elements.
I loved the reverse pattern on the blue and green patterned paper sheets, but the pattern on the orange sheets was that darker green that wouldn't have worked with the palette, so I just reversed the direction of those pieces, sticking them down so only the orange would show. Scor Tape is great for holding them together so they won't pop apart at any point.
