Welcome to the January Sneak Peeks at Flourishes :) It's such a lovely and lovey month, and I'm so excited to show you the sets this week! This classic set -- called From the Heart -- penned by Becky Fleck offers an antique flavor for Valentine's Day! An ornate heart stands as a focal point and is a perfect companion to Spellbinders Classic Heart Nestabilities die (S4-136) and Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Heart Nestabilities Dies (S4-137). A curled banner is the perfect accent -- allowing a few of the sentiments to be stamped inside!
I love the gorgeous wood-cut styled images in this set, very romantic :). So, I went with a romantic styled card. I pulled out some older Webster's Pages, and then stamped my larger heart on vellum cardstock. The nice thing about stamping on vellum is that you can use regular water-based ink and still emboss the image. Which I did with clear embossing powder for both the card and for the little heart tin.
Isn't this tin precious? We got it from one of our leaders' weddings as a little thank you, and I've saved it ever since, knowing I'd use it on a project. This was the perfect one. I adhered the vellum heart to the bottom of the tin with glue dots and then surrounded the tin with pretty laces, and added pretty faceted hearts to the top, in the shape of a heart underneath the pretty scrolly label. I stamped the label on designer paper and added a little copic coloring to the shadows to give it more realism.
Here's a bit of a closeup on the card, the shiny vellum heart, the rhinestones (colored over with copics), and then laces.
Isn't this a wonderful set? You'll see more fabulous goodies at the rest of the Design Team. Don't forget to comment on each of them, you might find the Mystery Blogger of the Day and be chosen to win this set!
