Blessed Ornament

Today I get to play along with the Timeless Tuesday Challenge Team and bring you a sneak peek of a really cute sentiment set new from Flourishes this month, called Sentimental Christmas.  Our Challenge This week is to create a card with this technique called Double Embossing .  Beate's sample card in the original tutorial is stunning I have to say, and I'm sure the TT Team will show you some stunning examples today too.  But mine didn't double emboss quite like I wanted.  I tried 5 different times!  I must be doing something wrong!  BUT, I'll show you the card anyway, it's still pretty, just not quite the technique.

I used a number of pretty Spellbinders dies to create this pretty "ornament" card:  Heirloom Ornament 2011 Die to frame the design as well as the little poinsettia ornament on top in the ribbon, and then Classic Petal Edgeabilities to create the bottom fancy edges.  I stamped the sentiment into the center of the ornament shape (that I was trying to double emboss), and then added the poinsettia from the Poinsettia and Boxwood set , stamped in Ranger Spun Sugar ink, sponging the inside of the shape.

  17. Beautiful card!!! I am glad I am not the only one who had trouble with this one!!! I must have done 5 or 6 just to get one with a blank space - and then couldn't repeat the result so who knows how I got one with a blank space to start with!!! LOL
