Baby Week! Oh Boy!

Well, for the next week I've decided to devote my designs to all things BABY :)  With the birth of our nephew I told my sister--in-law that I'd make her Thank You cards again for them...so I'll be trying out some design samples this week on you, and you can tell me what you think.  Now it will be all boy of course, but the designs can always be altered by color and embellishments for a girl.  I'm trying to keep them generally simple so that they can be recreated in greater numbers.

Here's number ONE :)

I got this adorable new set To the Moon from Verve specifically with these cards in mind actually.  How can you resist that adorable frame with the elephant in it!  ACK!  Cuteness!

I took my color palette from the cute turquoise-y elephant on the fabric on the Zoya B site (wow you could get lost in there!) which is the Inspiration Challenge on SCS today.   And the used one of last month's Verve sketches adding a few elements.  Isn't that little heart border punch perfect...it has the polkadots from the design and I used one of the cut out hearts from inside the punch to add to the little copic colored elephant.   All the papers are old SU ones...Soft Sky and then Prestwick DSP.

As you can see I added some BG0000 and BG11 to the face and trunk of the elephant...it does look a little more even than that in real life, I went a little too high on my saturation in this photo....but you get the idea.

And here's the little self that I'm so enamoured with....

You'd swear I'm his mother the way I want to cuddle with him, but I get to send him home or to his Mommy when he cries :)  He was 2 weeks early so he's just 6 -7 lbs...and his little bum fits right in my hand when I'm holding him.  Ah babies....such a picture of the goodness of God.  Have a great Saturday and weekend friends....I'll be back with more baby goodness this week.

Stamps;  Verve - To the Moon;  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Soft Sky, Basic Grey, Soft Sky Prints, Prestwick DSP;  Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Nesties, Scalloped Oval Nesties, Circle Punch, Martha Stewart Hearts Border Punch, Soft Sky DS Ribbon, Dimensionals, Copic Markers, Piercer
