Create

Thank you so much friends for your many words of encouragement on yesterday's post  It meant a great deal to me.  Today is a new day!  And I've created just for the joy of creating!  A good feeling.

Today's color challenge colors at SCS are Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Basic Black.  I thought I'd go the very elegant rich direction with them.

This is the new Charming set from the Holiday Mini, intended for use on the new jewelry products, but also on cards :)  Anything damask makes me happy and this set really has that feel.

I used my SW markers on the flower and then after it was stamped, used the fine tip end of the marker to give the flowers and leaves more definition.  I cut it out slowly :)  I find that fussy cutting is actually kind of peaceful, maybe because you can't rush it.
I stamped the small background word set on the Eggplant layer in Eggplant and then stamped the frame in Vanilla Craft, cut it out and added the black frame (handcut).  I added overstamping on the Old Olive DSP layer with the damask stamp (gives it more definition don't you think?)

Ribbon is GORGEOUS silk from Flourishes, it ties so beautifully and gives it that finishing touch of elegance.

Recipe:  Stamps:  Charming (SU);  Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Vanilla Craft;  Paper:  Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Old Olive, Old Olive DSP;  Accessories:  SW Markers, Flourishes Silk Ribbon Deep Violet, Modern Label Punch, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals.

  5. I love this card, Christine! The rich colors and subtle patterns are so elegant. I just read your previous post, and I'm sorry you had to choose. I've never been SU, but I understand the conflict it's caused on such a wide scale.
