Adventures in Card Making

I haven't been able to participate in the color challenge at SCS for weeks, so I thought I'd try and do a quick card today. To be honest I made this in my bedroom, sitting on my bed, using my Scor It board as a desk! Talk about dedication to my craft! (read craziness! LOL) All this because the cabinet installers came today.

This is my kitchen today:

Ok, back to the card, I used the pretty Flower Lines again, masking off to create a more real feel, coloring with SW Markers and my Aqua Painter. I really prefer markers when then images are small, you get better precision in your coloring. I rounded the edge by tracing a CD along the main image and cutting it out (hey you have to use what's available!). I sponged with Barely Banana and I like the glow it gives.

I used the Manhattan Floral folder for the embossing just to give the background some interest (and I think it goes nicely with the set too).

Hopefully I'll see you soon with a little less chaos going on!

Recipe: Stamps: Flower Lines, So Many Sayings; Ink: Black Stazon; Paper: Lavendar Lace, Basic Black, Watercolor Paper; Accessories: SW Markers, Aqua Painter, Sponge, Vintage Brads, Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals, Valet Ribbon Originals, Big Shot, Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder.

  10. This is beautiful! I love the yellow/golden glow. I feel for you with the kitchen disarray. We had all our hardwood floors refinished at the same time a few years ago. We could only get to the livingroom, kitchen, and one bathroom. Had to go around the outside of the house to get to the kitchen. And, yes, all the furniture and everything from the closets -- absolutely everything from the other rooms had to be moved into the livingroom and kitchen. It's going to be wonderful when it's finished and I'm looking forward to the pics!

  13. Truly beautiful! You're so dedicated Christine, my stamping room is totally in boxes right now. I've moved to a larger room in the house and am having custom cabinets made. All my supplies are in boxes, making it difficult to get anything done. I can't wait to see pictures of your kitchen when it's completed!

  14. Hello,

What a FABULOUS creation! I love the colors that you have chosen, especially anything in the purple family, and the embossing that you've used really balances the card so well!

Could you please tell me who makes both sets of stamps that you've used? I would really appreciate knowing that information.

Thanks so much for sharing such a terrific piece of artwork!

    Best wishes,
