I just had to end off the year with another Christmas/Winter themed design from Power Poppy that expresses my one of my hopes for the year ahead. We can all use the encouragement to choose to be joyful couldn’t we?
This design uses Power Poppy’s Birds in Hellebores digi (also on SALE in polymer as Heaven and Nature Sing). I adore their sweet little expressions tucked into each other in the hellebore flowers! They are coloured up with Copics and then trimmed out with my paper snips.
I’ve placed them onto some diecut holly and berries which I sponged and added detail to with Prismacolor Pencils. Then I’ve added them onto a woodcut slice die from The Greetery. The woodcut pairs with the neutral colour of the birds and gives a nice accent.
The background is sponged and splattered with Distress Oxide ink and then run through a stencil from Pink Fresh called Intricate Stitched Ovals.
The sentiment is embossed in gold using the polymer set, and I’ve added a few enamel dots to accent.

Ohhhh, you always make me see things through new eyes, Christine! This is so lovely in the warm colors and set against the wood slice. The touch of soft pink with enamel dots elevates the beauty even more. Happy new year!
