This weekend we’re going to celebrate 25 years of ministry of our Senior Pastor and his wife at our Church. I think that’s amazing! We’ve been on staff with them for 14 of those years, and they have really made a huge difference in our lives (and so many others) by their sacrifice and service. They are really special people. One of our Children’s Ministry Leaders asked if I’d make a big card for all the kids to sign and say thank you too.
Because I wanted to make this a large card (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches) I pulled out Power Poppy’s Olive and Oak Digital Stamp Set, and enlarged it to fill half of a page of XPress It Blending Cardstock. I love the symbolism of strength and stability of the Olive and Oak set. The lovely sentiment is from Marcy’s brand new digital set, Painting Pumpkins (I can hardly wait to colour that one up!)
I had lots of room to colour in all the details of the oak leaves, olives and acorns with Copics, and did a bit of an “out of the box” cut to the right side for some extra interest.
The eggplant cardstock mat is embossed and scallop cut with a die along the bottom, and I accented with this lush velvet crochet ribbon and some twine along the side (which also helps hold in more inside pages to make room for the extra inside pages I added some there would be more room to sign.
Have you heard the news??? We have a brand new polymer stamp set release coming from Power Poppy starting October 24! Yay! We’re so excited to debut it, but until then....

This is lovely, Christine. I love this stamp set but have always had trouble coloring it. You did an amazing job! It really is stunning!
ReplyDeleteOh, Christine, what a blessing to be celebrating the ministry of your senior pastor and his wife (for surely it's a ministry and sacrifice for his wife as well). I love the perfect sentiment, and your image is absolutely and completely jaw-dropping! Your coloring continues to delight me and inspire me, sweet friend, and this is such a special card for the kids to sign and say thank you. What a blessing you and Terry are to your church in so many ways, and it's wonderful that you are able to make this special card for your children's ministry leaders (for the kids). Hugs and love, and have a wonderful weekend celebration! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour coloring always knocks me over. It's just amazing what you can do with Copics!

ReplyDeleteHi Christine. I saw your beautiful card on Pinterest, and just had to come by and tell you how lovely it is! Simply amazing coloring! Then, what a treat to learn you were honoring your pastor of 25 years. Love it when I find a 'sister in Christ'.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to all of you in your church family!
