The lovely Kathy is our hostess, and it’s all about Love and Sparkle! You can combine those themes or use them on their own. So today I’ve got sparkle, and one of my favourite expressions of love - prayer.
I’m still finishing up cards for my Sis-in-law and this is another one I’ll add to the stash. I used the very lovely Peony Muse from Power Poppy stamped in Memento Gray Flannel ink to soften up the image a bit, and then coloured up with pale peach shades, with a rich gray background which really helps to give it depth.
For the sparkle, I’ve used something I often do, a single strip of Scor-Tape with glitter burnished over top. This way you still can see the colouring underneath and it adds a classy touch.
I added a bit more sparkle by embossing the sentiment in silver and some pretty sparkly sequins.
Here’s the group of Copics I used.
Now pop on over to the rest of the girls playing along today for more inspiration....and then jump in to the challenge with us, you could win a $50 Power Poppy Shopping spree! The challenge is open all month long!

Christine, this is stunning! I love the that you stamped the image in grey, gives it a much softer look (something I never seem to do), and it blends very well with your peach shades of the peonies. Great idea for the glitter strip for that bit of sparkle!
ReplyDeleteExquisite card, Christine!!! Love the idea of the score tape with the glitter on it. I'm so using that! Thanks for the tip. Your coloring is fabulous on those gorgeous flowers. All-in-all, a great card!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and peaceful, very soothing card for someone who is in need of prayer :) I love the strip of glitter going down, lovely touch!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful with your soft coloring of these exquisite peonies! The transparent sparkle strip and matching sequins are just enough to add that extra something special to your card.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Christine! The soft shading and the masking is perfect. I like that you embossed the sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteChristine, this is gorgeous, and I agree that this sentiment is one of my favorites! I always think that saying you are praying for someone is so important -- after all, we all need prayer. Your coloring is so beautiful, and I really love the rich gray for the background that pulls out the peonies. They are amazing, and I love how you've arranged them to allow plenty of space for the sentiment along with the sequins. Love the sheer glitter strip idea too. Beautifully done, sweet friend! Your coloring so inspires me! Sunny hugs! xoxo
