A White Sparkly Christmas

We have another fabulous set to show you from The Cat’s Pajamas today, it’s called Penguin Joy and there’s some pretty adorable winter penguin images in it...but I decided to go a bit of a different direction with this design, giving it a cool elegant look.

I took the pretty snowflakes that are in the set and embossed them in white and silver on watercolour paper, as well as embossing the “Let It Snow sentiment".  Next I took some reinker ink (Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Taken with Teal) and washed in some icy colour.  After it dried,  I spritzed some shimmery spray overtop to really get that sparkly-ice look.  Super shimmery in person.

Next I added a pretty vellum panel with the sentiment done in a fish-tale banner, topping it off with another of our TCP CutUps, Holiday Toppers, sewing it on.  This helps hold the vellum in place without having any adhesive show.

A few sprinkles of rhinestones and sequins and a shimmery ribbon tucked under the vellum finish it off.
Here’s a peek at this cute set....see what I mean about adorable penguins?

Very clever, focusing your design on the beautiful sentiment like that! I like how you stitched the vellum in place as well - adds an interesting element to the card while solving the adhesive problem :) TFS!

I started to do a card with a vellum panel this year but, when I put what I thought was white vellum against the background, it looked greyish. I've had it awhile... did it turn color? Or do you have a bright background? Mine was pale pastels.
