Hello Friday friends. Today I’m playing with the Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy to “Cut It Out!” I took out my handy dandy detail scissors and played with this weeks’ Mojo Monday Sketch and here’s the result!
It’s a lovely rich red camellia bloom from our Simply Camellias set. Reds are not easy to work with at times with Copics, getting your highlights and depths can be tricky, so I really took my time wiht this one and I love how it turned out.
After colouring and trimming out the flower, I also embossed the larger camellia blooms onto this designer paper (Words of Love - Carta Bella), and then embossed the bottom of the card with an embossing folder.
Because the embossing has pretty shine in it I added that sparkly black ribbon and some enamel dots to accent the design. Then just a touch of washi tape and more patterned paper from the pack. Sorry this photo above is a bit over exposed. You can’t see the embossing on the bottom of the paper...something is really up with my camera that I’m going to have to do some investigating on!
Here’s the Copics I used to bring the lovely flower to life!
Here’s the gang playing along today..

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can join us in the Cut It Out Challenge for your chance to win Power Poppy goodies!!
Oh, Christine, you certainly did justice to these reds in the camellia! It's gorgeous, and I love the embossing on the black DP! Stunning layout with the Mojo sketch and absolutely beautiful! Hugs, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteChristine, what a beautiful card! So many details and features that my eyes are going in so many directions to take it all in, but it is very cohesive too which is so impressive. As usual, I am in awe of your coloring ability, and you did one masterful job with the reds!!! Stunning! I'm so grateful to you for all that I learn from you. I agree with CherylQuilts (I have intereacted with her on some of her cards and mine on SCS, what a sweet lady!!!), and LOVE that glow from your black embossing of the flowers, so beautiful. I love how you made your colored blossom to stand out more in color than the other reds in the background, really wonderful! You have so much versatility in your style, and I admire that so much, Christine!
ReplyDeleteHoping that you have THE BEST Mother's Day this weekend. I know that between your family demands and those at church that you are one busy lady, and I also admire how you still accomplish so much in your card-making. God has given you so much talent, and you use it so wisely! Bless you!!!
Hugs,
Joanne (905lovestostamp)
