Day Three of Sneak Peeks at The Cat’s Pajamas brings us a lovely and unique floral set that is paired with some fantastic and creative dies. The set is called Patterned Petals, I think you’ll really enjoy how it all works together.
This card has some neat effects to it, I began with the background layer that is watercolour paper. I embossed the flowers onto the paper with white embossing powder, and then loosely washed in colours of burgundy and minty green. I was really inspired by this pretty wedding photography photo and the colours of the dresses and floral arrangements.
Next I took the Leaf Scroll Die and cut a space in the bungundy panel, then pulled the area apart slightly so that the watercoloured layer would peek through. Next I adorned it with the pretty Petal Posies flower dies that go with this set, in this minty green shade. I love intricate dies like this where you can leave the cut areas in, or push them out.
I added some stamping on the outside of the burgundy layer with the larger leaf scroll stamp and then embellished with pearls, and then added the vellum sentiment cut with the Fancy Flip CutUps die.
Have you been getting chatty in the TCP In It To Win It Thread at Splitcoaststampers? It’s such a fun way to show your enthusiasm for the new sets and dies - or just talk about anything your heart desires! Alma picks winners of the new goodies and it’s great fun!
