2015$ for A Journey Home!

Happy New Year friends!  Praying you are beginning a year of significance ahead!

Today I have the honour of letting you know about something special for a wonderful family.  The lovely Julie Masse and I have worked together these last months at The Cat’s Pajamas, and she and her family are working on adopting a little girl with special needs from China (so wonderful!).

Here’s what Julie had to say about the process "We have completed our homestudy and all our dossier documents (the most important documents summarizing our life that will go to China) have been gathered and will soon be going to China!!   We are hoping to be matched with our daughter in the next several months and travel to get her in the late Spring! If you want to read ALL about it check out www.masseadoption.blogspot.com).  The overall cost of the adoption will be in excess of $31,000.  To date, we have raised a little over $8000 which includes some of our personal funds, donations made and proceeds from our Bracelets for One.”

Today they are beginning a brand new fundraiser and we’re helping them by getting the word out.

It’s called 2015$ - Two Thousand Fifteens.  Their goal is to have 2000 people make a one-time donation of $15 toward their adoption - hence the 2015$! :)  In order to make the goal of reaching 2000 people, Here’s a link to their blog and to their YouCaring Site.  As a way to make it more fun and say thank you for the donations, Julie will be giving away a specially designed bracelet to a randomly drawn winner for every 50 donations that come in (if you donate $30 you will get 2 entries, etc.)!

To celebrate for the Masse’s I made a card with the theme of coming home.  I began with TCP’s set Home for All Seasons and the matching Village Cut Ups Die stamping in Memento Espresso ink onto Neenah White cardstock.  I added some soft blue green colour with Copics and then added the pretty tree with hearts from the set as well.  A heart tree would definitely welcome a new little girl home well :).  I picked this paper from Echo Park Reflections because it had a map on it.  I thought ti would work perfectly for the theme of bringing her home across the many miles.  I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the card.

Sorry about all this white space in there on this pic...my software did something weird!  I added a heart ribbon slide, some buttons and rhinestones to accent and then the word HOME on the outside in red Memento ink.

This to me speaks to the heart of what the Masse’s are trying to do for their little girl.  Bless you Masse Family, and thanks in advance to all of you for your help on their behalf out there!
