Now for some fun today, the Flourishes Senior Design Team has a bit of beautiful variety to show off. Some of the team got to play with Becky Fleck’s new round of January Sketches at PageMaps (sketches available Saturday) and others on the team are going to surprise you with some of their own creativity.

I’ve used two beautiful Flourishes sets to create a card my kids gave to my Dad for his Birthday - Antique Map and A Guiding Light.   I thought the smaller images from the sets like the compass from the map set and the little lighthouse would work perfectly on these postage sized pieces stamped onto Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock.  I coloured these with  Emerald Coast Copic Collection as well as the Fuschia Collection of markers.

On the notebook style background layer of Color Made Easy - Emerald Coast cardstock, I used Memento Teal Zeal ink, Ranger Distress inks in Tea Stain and Vintage Photo to “age” the layer.  Then White Craft ink to give the “picket fence” in the background a white wash. This was made with Classic Kraft cardstock that had been put through a woodgrain embossing folder .  I layered the paper to look like an older run-down fence.

A few finishing details include Ivory Jute Twine, Enamel Dots, and an old photo corner brad I had in my collection of stuff!

Here’s how my pretty sketch looked:

Join these lovely ladies for some fabulous inspiration to kick-off your New Year!

Another of your excellent masculine cards! I hardly recognized the stamps you used, but, of course, I do have them. Love how you cut the images smaller for a collage-like effect. Great job, Christine!
