Shades of Summer

Well wow here we are at the Flourishes August Pre-Release Challenge!  It's a great one, and WOWIE will you be excited to see the August Releases....I know I say it every month, but once again this month you will be amazed by what's coming, there's SO much in store Flourishes fans!   So, here's the deets on this months Pre Release Challenge:  It's sad to say, but the daylight hours will start to get shorter and the summer will start to fade.  Let's honor the changes of seasons with our Shades of Sunset Challenge.  This challenge is open to interpretation.  Sunsets are so unique - some show mostly shades of red and orange, others can light up the sky with purple and pink hues.  Pick your favourite sunset colors and get inspired.  Keyword FLLCAUG11.  Deadline to enter is August 12, @ 5 pm EST.  

I took the very beautiful Ranunculus blossom from the gorgeous Sweet Nature set , masked and stamped it in a row so that the blooms overlapped each other.  Then colored them with Copic Markers in shades of the sunset, much like the inspiration picture with that vibrant sun in the middle, I love the corals to pinks of the flowers.  As you can see I framed the image with a pretty Spellbinders Borderabilities, and accented the Blossom Two sentiment die with a gorgeous Prima Flower Center...perfect colors!   While we were at CHA my friend and fellow DT'er Barbara Anders gave me some gorgeous orange seam binding and I added it and a tiny bow too :)   The Design Team will have some gorgeous Sunset Inspired creations to show you today so be sure to pop by and check them out, then jump in on the challenge!  You could win the whole August Release and you will be so excited once you see it.  Sneak peeks begin Monday (YES Monday!!).  So be sure to come back for more of the fun.  Barbara Anders Christine Okken (you are here) Cindy Lawrence Danielle Kennedy Julie Koerber  Leslie Miller Stacy Morgan Tammy Hershberger
