ChristineCreations: What a Catch!

Oh GANG!! You will LOVE today's set we're Sneak Peeking from Flourishes today! It's masculine...and so well illustrated by Marcy, plus as you've come to expect from Flourishes - there are fantastic sentiments too. Great for the man in your life...and for Father's Day!

I was trying to create a real fishing themed feel - right down to the plaid fisherman's shirt!

I've stamped the image on Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock with Memento Ink, then colored up the fishing bag, pole and flies with Copic Markers. Isn't the paper fantastic? It's Basic Grey Life of the Party, and it's full of fun festive pages, and great masculine ones too! I've mimicked the woodgrain of the paper into the blue layer behind the main image with an embossing plate too.

I've stamped some of the fishing flies onto the sentiment banner above in Sahara ink and also colored one up and attached it to the twine as an accent. One thing I learned on this card is that after coloring your image (in this case - the fishing bag), if you go over your coloring with a light marker of the same color family (B21) you'll pick up some of the color and giving it a lighter more mottled effect - a little like canvas texture.
