Lenten Rose

Welcome to March New Release Sneak Peeks from Flourishes!  I'm so excited to show you this month's creations ....the sets are just beautiful!

I had to look up images of today's set because I hadn't ever seen a Lenten Rose before, but after I found some images and information, I really would love to plant these!  They like shaded areas and are good for ground cover - and are so beautiful!

I colored up this beautiful vase of flowers with Copics and Prismacolors and OMS for shading.  It was fun to combine the mediums.  This is a 5.5 x 5.5 square card and I've used everything I possibly could from the Basic Grey Curio Collection that we have at the Flourishes store, Designer paper , Curio Glazed Brads, and Curio Ribbon Doilies.  I love the combination together.  I've also used the Lacey Circles Nestabilities, and the Ribbon Tags Trio Shapeabilities Die with one end of the label cut off, all done in the Grand Calibur.

I'm really happy with the color contrasts and color value in this one.  Below are the copics and prismacolors I used, that's a G94 hiding in there in the back.

Now how about a second card based on one of the pictures I found of the Lenten Rose?

Aren't these beautiful?  What a great array of greens, creams and burgundies...

On this card I used straight Copics for coloring.  I've added some pretty and elegant details, the folded designer paper along the bottom, almost like a roman shade, crochet lace, embossing and pearls.  Then some over-stamping of the single Lenten rose on the sentiment.

Now I've seen some of the Design Team's Creations with this set, and they ROCKED it...so please check out their beauties today....
