Wow it's been a wild week! We had Vacation Bible School for the younger two and our eldest was helping, my husband performed a wedding on Friday, he preached this morning, and our kitchen was being put in.
But bliss! The cabinets are in! My fridge and stove are not in the livingroom, I have a sink and the dishwasher should come by the end of this week! I still have to do the tile work, and some finishing touches, but we are thrilled with how everything has turned out. It is the kitchen we dreamed of having! I'll post some pictures after we get the finishing touches done.
So that's where I've been the last few days!
I thought I'd post the wedding card I made for the wedding from Friday. They are two great people, the bride served on our youth ministry team as a voluteer for a number of years, and the groom is the College Intern for us at our church. So, we really think a lot of these two and it's so fun to see them commit their lives to each other.
I took out my PTI, Friends Till the End set again (yes I KNOW it's not SU....you'll see some SU again really soon I promise :) )
I had this idea from Thursday's Ways to Use it Challenge at SCS, it was to use pairs of things. Since it was a wedding, I thought the idea would work perfectly. I chose the colors based on their wedding invitation. It had a white embossed base, and deep purple and vivid green accents.
I colored the image with copic markers (The Crocus and Spring Greens Collection from Flourishes). I chose to do a long card (I really never do this, I'm such an A2 size girl, but it suited the design better anyway I never would have fit this main image on a regular 4 2.5 x 5.5 card).
The main flowers are masked and stamped and then as you can see below, I colored and cut out the smaller blooms and leaves and popped them up. I LOVE how they turned out.
The main card base (white layer) is embossed with my Texturz plate (to match their wedding invitation). And I used elegant Flourishes velvet ribbon just simply knotted. And a sentiment tag cut with my Sizzlits Lots of Tags.
I love how it turned out. Perfectly matched their wedding too! It was a lovely ceremony! I cried...but I always cry at weddings!
See you tomorrow!
