A Wedding Rose

Today's Color Challenge colors over at SCS are beautiful bold ones ....Real Red, Old Olive, Black and White or Vanilla.

Well, of course, how could you go wrong with a Red Rose??? Especially since we have a wedding this weekend and this will be perfect.

I used the Fifth Avenue Floral Rose watercoloring it. Let me just say that if you're new to watercoloring...red is not the color to start with, at least with SU Reinkers. Red has deep pigment and stain and you have to move it or blend it a lot so that it won't stain the paper and will blend well. It had me going today!

I paired the pretty rose with the Sizzlit leaves, and the Manhattan Flower embossing folder, using the reverse or de-bossed side. I added the Scalloped Bigz shape and the scalloped sentiment. The ribbon is lovely, and I wish you could see it better, it's the textured velvet ribbon from the Valet Ribbon Originals.

I really love the bold contrasts and texture. Thanks for popping by...we're off to swimming lessons in a bit!

Recipe: Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Oval All; Ink: Black Stazon; Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Old Olive, Old Olive Prints, Whisper White, Watercolor; Accessories: Reinkers, SW Markers, White Gel Pen, Big Shot, Sizzlits, Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, Scalloped Circles Bigz Die, Valet Ribbon Originals, Dimensionals, Brads, Piercer
