Our theme this month is sweet and sentimental....and today's set is absolutely that...so sweet and sentimental...
This gorgeous set is illustrated by Marcella Hawley and I really think it captures the very detailed but delicate look of the sweet pea.
I wanted to do something entirely different color-wise for this card so I combined the richness of deep purples with the pretty neutral of River Rock. A nice contrast.
The pretty sweet peas are watercolored in the retired color Vintage Violet and in Elegant Eggplant. Then the stems and leaves are given a light coat of River Rock and some River Rock shadows. Then I added two extra blooms popped up.
I love the ribbons, all from Flourishes, pretty purple organdy polka-dot and then a lovely purple satin. A tiny gem accents the sentiment and some pretty diamond piercing and it's complete!
