Your Bug Day

Another weekend....another boy's birthday party! (same thing next weekend too!)

Our oldest boy has a couple of friends that have been his friends since almost birth. We've been in the same small group for a lot of years, and in church for all their years! Such a treasure. I pray they will always have that friendship and can continue to *grow up* together. Yesterday was the party for one of them, and as my sleepy boy has returned home today after the swimming and sleepover in an *indoor tent* ...I can see (and hear) he had a blast! (Thanks Lee :) )

Here's the card I made:

I pulled out one of my BIG letters I purchased so long ago with SU since his name starts with T. I clear embossed the letter on patterned paper, and trimmed it out with a slight edge, then mounted it on a second layer of patterned paper.

The bugs are cut out and/or popped up. Then for fun I used my Stampin' Write marker to color in parts of the sentiment and punched out 3 words with my word window punch and attached them with an eyelet...and added a bunch more eyelets on the card. (my attempt to keep using them).

I organized my embellishments yesterday in an attempt to save some space. Putting things from 1/2 empty containers into other ones. I ended up with 20 or so little SU containers that my son is now using as a tower building structure! They think if they get a few more they can make a giant checkers game! Nothing like repurposed craft items!

Here's the inside. I'm not really much for decorating the inside of cards, but I wanted the rest of the sentiment inside and I had an extra bug!

Recipe: Stamps: Monogram T, Bugs and Kisses; Ink: VersaMark, Garden Green, More Mustard, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise; Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, East Coast Prep DSP; Accessories: Silver Eyelets, Clear EP, SW Markers, Dimensionals

  1. This card is sooo cute. We showed everyone in the room and even the boys were impressed at how it was made. You know it's a good one when boys will take their eyes off the video game for a minute to say "cool" to a homemade card.
