Little Joy Wreath

Well, we had a little dusting of snow yesterday.  It’s not even all that early for my great white north :), but it didn’t stick around long, and turned to rain a few hours later.  Though, I’m sure those frosty flakes that stay won’t be too many weeks into the future.  With that snow theme in mind, I thought I’d play with another design for the Anything Goes Challenge at The Cat’s Pajamas this week.

The sweet little stamps are from an older TCP set called J*lly H*liday, it’s since retired, but I just had to have some sweet little focal point for these pretty inset snowflakes.  They are created with TCP’s Double Snowflake CutUps dies.  It’s one of my favourite ways to use them.  Because they are such a detailed die, you can cut them in your cardstock and then leave them inset to give you a beautiful effect.  What’s great about a die like this is that you could push out some of the snowflake pieces, or leave as is, there are so many different possibilities.

The little wreath is coloured twice and the top layer popped up for a wee bit of definition.

I stamped the snowflake from the set in red on the kraft layer and then brushed some vanilla craft ink onto the edges to give it that swirly snow effect.

And then to frame out the snowflake “tag”, I used TCP’s Holiday Toppers CutUps as well.  A little bit of twine finishes the tag off.

We hope you can join us in the challenge!  Here are the details:

  • Every other Tuesday a new challenge will be posted on The Cat’s Pajamas blog as well as on our Facebook page.
  • If you want to play along you just upload your design to The Cat’s Pajamas blog page using the InLinkz button below.
  • You must have your project posted by the Monday, 11:55 EDT before the next challenge to be eligible to win the Cat Cash.
  • Cards and projects are not required to use a Cat’s Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die but if you do the Cat Cash amount increases.
  • On the following TCP Tuesday, the week’s winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10 or $15 if a TCP product is used.
Thanks for popping by today!

Love how you used the imprint of the die and of course I LOVE the "joy" - my favorite word - front and center :) Great Christmas card. Can't wait to start making mine!

Sweet and pretty! Love the little joy wreath. Brrr, snow already? Our weather seems to have turned, as well, but no snow. We don't usually get it here. Stay cozy, Christine!
