New Release - Handmade Snowflakes!

Hi all -- it's time for day two of Flourishes fabulous sneak peeks for October! Today, it's all about the whimsy of those winter months when the temperature drops and the flakes start to fly!

These whimsical snow flakes are just ready and waiting to be added to all of your winter and holiday themed creations! These hand-drawn flakes, created by Marcella Hawley, offer a dash of charm and style. This 4" by 6" set also offers three scripted sentiments that will give your cards the perfect punch.

I had a lot of fun playing with Handmade Snowflakes and actually made 3 cards that you'll see over the next week or two in this colour palette using this set.  They are all different styles - which shows the versatility of what it can do.    In this first design I thought I would be fun to create a vellum pocket to give the feeling of a frosty window with snowflakes behind it.

I began by using the silhouette cut files that will be available for this set and cutting out several of the different snowflake shapes in Flourishes Classic White, Color Made Easy Emerald Coast and Cool Neutrals cardstock.  Then I stamped on the snowflakes in Teal Zeal Memento ink, or White Craft ink, embossing the snowflakes in white.  The I began to form my "pocket" with vellum.  Hint for you - tack down your snowflakes where you might want them to go in the pocket before you sew it all together.  What you can't see is that I didn't do that and had to cut open the back of the pocket to move all my snowflakes around where I wanted them.  For fun I also added some pretty Theresa Collins silver sequins in there, and embossed the front of the pocket with a white snowflake as well.

I've given the pocket a pretty scalloped border with my Spellbinders Scalloped Borders Two that I love so much, plus some embossing in the background that I "frosted" up with my white craft ink, the sentiment is cut with the silhouette file too (so perfect)!  It's a little frosty fun for you today!

And, what's more? This set is taking center stage in Flourishes brand new Class In A Box Kit for October! Here's a peek!

This rustic card kit with country charm comes with the stamp set, plus all the pre-cut paper, embellishments, trim and ribbon needed to make 6 cards -- two each of three designs! Just stamp, and put these beauties together. It's quick and easy card inspiration delivered right to your door! When you're done, save the full-color, glossy instructions to make all of these cards on your own in the future! This kit also features the 6" by 6" paper pack by Bazzill called Nordic Pines. What fun!

The Design Team created some wonderful creations showing off these Handmade Snowflakes! While you're out and about, don't forget about....
